Is it bad to take so many Lactaid pills?
Asked by personwhoizme on Oct 29, 2009 in Health Conditions

Okay so I am lactose intolerant, but I love cheese, milk, and every other dairy product that is out there. That means that I take Lactaid sometimes 3 to 5 times a day, is this healthy?

Answer

LACTAID® pills help to prevent the gas and bloating that happens when people with  lactose intolerance consume dairy products.  Neither overdose nor side-effects have been reported with Lactaid pills, and so you can take them every time you eat dairy.  People with lactose intolerance also find it convenient to use lactose-free dairy products, such as LACTAID® brand milk, cottage cheese and ice cream, and to substitute non-dairy foods like sorbet and non-dairy creamer for dairy products, like ice cream and light cream.
