so during the week i eat pretty healthy. but when the weekend comes i eat like a horse. i eat when im not hungry, i eat when im bored, and i eat just because its there. and i try to resist but i cant. i could really use some tips on how to stop all this mindless eating.
Cliche I know but exercise. That's what I did when I was craving one of those super tasty super calorie cosmic brownies the other day. Instead I put on my shoes grabbed the stroller, loaded up my brother and took a hike. Surprisingly it helped, the walk was long enough to keep me out of the house until it was time to cook dinner. If that doesn't work try spending the weekend logging every single thing you put in your mouth, sometimes seeing the numbers add up is enough to help curb the cravings. But remember if you slip up don't obsess over it just find an activity that will burn off those cals and double it, but mostly just stay out of the house! Good luck
I dunno- try to stay away from the foods. I just go up to my third floor, and usually my laziness will keep me away from going downstairs to eat. Either that, or just get some ice water. I love to munch on ice, and it makes me forget that I wanted to snack. :D
It sounds like boredom eating to me. Keep water handy at all times, if you're in the kitchen your lips are not to move away from your water unless you're refilling.
Chew every morsel 50+ times.. slowly. That discourages me from boredom eating. XD
Do a puzzle, draw, read, study, take a nap, go for a walk, exercise, reorganize your socks, count your neighborhood trees, cross dress, lift large shrubbery, make funny faces in the mirror until you can't feel your face anymore. Whatever amuses you and keeps you busy.. Do it.
When you find yourself boredom eating, stop yourself. It's hard, but it's possible if you're aware of what you're doing. I find it helps to stop and think about what you're eating and put all the other foods&n bsp;you have into consideration before choosing something. That way, if you do boredom eat, at least choose the healthiest option.
