Just eat half the bagel!
That's a great idea. You could even have the other half as a snack later, if you need it.
Me, I buy mini-bagels. Pepperidge Farm has some pretty good whole wheat ones for 100 cals apiece. Don't think they make cinnamon-raisin, though. Sorry! :)

just eat the whole thing. theyre good
yea i dont think i could eat just one half..i mean..come on? Thats so not filling..and you would prob end up having a huge snack or lucnh to make up for it
Wait until the weekend and have it then as a special treat.
Hey Katie... since you shop at Trader Joe's, look for their mini-bagels! The plain bagels I get there are tiny.. but only 70 calories and great for satifying a bagel craving. I just keep the bag in the freezer. They also have whole wheat mini-bagels but they have a few more calories and not enough fiber to be worth it for me.
well if the bagel and cream cheese or whatever topping you like fits in with your caloric needs then go for it!!! dont deprive yourself
chances are, depriving urself now, will probably make u binge later
Half a bagel is not depriving yourself. Bagels (the extra large ones they sell in delis, especially) are at least twice a portion size. It is a matter of recognizing what a proper portion is. But try this: only prep and eat one half of the bagel, and if you're still hungry when you're done, go ahead and eat the other half, just go easy on another meal later.
What is your total calorie goal for the day? 350 does not seem like a high calorie value for an entire meal. Though, they are rather empty calories. Go for the whole grains!
I typically try and eat 350 cals for breakfast it gets me energized and keeps me not so hungry till noon.
I usually eat something more nutritious but to me that doesnt sound like your having a HUGE breakfast.

I eat the whole wheat bagels I buy pre pacakged from the store and they are only 210! i put low cal philadelphia cream cheese on it (20cal a teaspoon) and woolllaaaa breakfast bagel for 250 cal!
I buy these frozen bagels called Western bagels. They have blueberry, sweet wheat, onion, etc....I find them in the health foods section of my grocery store and they are only 110 calories!!!
If you go to their website, you can find what stores near you carry them. They are awesome!!!! I usually top them with a couple cooked up egg whites and half a slice of american cheese - yummy!

Bagels are my favorite food in the whole world. I have no willpower around them. Every time someone brings them into work, I say I'm not going to have one and then I always end up eventually eating one.
Just eat them and then exercise!

niltzsch are those western bagels at whole foods or something? that sounds awesome!
my total calorie intake for the day is 1400. so a roughly 350 calorie breakfast wouldnt be that bad, right? as long as i eat a good lunch & dinner.
i dont know. i just really really want that bagel *drools*
and while one half of the bagel sounds way better, i dont think i have the self control for that ;) & they arent very filling.
thank you for all the responses! i guess im not the only bagel lover out there. :D

Yes as long as it fits into your general calorie scheme it isn't bad. However, I know if I ate it I would go over for the day as I am always super hungry at lunch and dinner and need to "save" my calories for that so normally keep my breakfast under 200. But enjoy it, you should.
i keep hearing about if you deprive yourself too much of the foods you like then you have a total breakdown one day. thats why theres 'cheat days' right? :)
yay! my bagel's ready! ima go eat it.
