Also, I was wondering if anyone had ballet slippers they no longer use/want that they would be willing to sell me?
The NYC ballet workouts are nice. The choreography at the end of workout 2 is supposed to be good for cardio---and it probably is if you can follow it. Fortunately the other parts of the DVD are not too hard to follow. The warm ups get easier to follow the more you do them. Ballet workouts are fun---search amazon to see what other ones are available.
you don't have to have slippers, but new simple ones are not that expensive. trust me, if someone has old ones, you don't want them. it's important for your foot to be in the shoe from the beginning, because even the regular kind of ballet shoe (they come in fabric and leather) conforms to your foot over time. Your foot will sweat as you excercise (in any kind of workout) and soften the material which will then shrink/stretch to fit your foot.
I accidentally grabbed my friend's slippers once and noticed RIGHT away, even though they were exactly the same as mine, same age and everything.
