The Bank for Losers

Quote  |  Reply

Welcome to the Bank for Losers!

This is a fun way to keep yourself motivated to do certain things.  These things will help you in your journey to be healthier.  At the end of the month, the person with the most "money" in their bank will be the winner!

Sign Ups are closed at the moment.

Here is a breakdown of what you will need to do to get "money" in your bank:

Daily

Water: +$.50 per 8 oz.
Exercise: +$1.00 per 10 minutes
Reach your personal calorie goal: +$2.00
Update the thread: +$1.50

Weekly

Weight Loss: +$5.00 per 1 lb

Penalties

Weighed more than once per week: -$2.00
Went over your personal calorie limit: -$3.00
No exercise: -$1.50

At the end of the month, the person with the highest amount of "money" in their bank will get a certificate of recognition from me.  It will be very professional looking as I am quite experienced in making these types of certificates.  I will email it to you and then you can print it off and hang it up for everyone to see!  Or just keep it on your computer as a reminder of how far you came.

If you have any questions, just ask me... Either here or privately.

Here is an example of what a day's "deposits and withdrawals" will look like.

---------------------------------------------

Friday 2/8

Water, 64 oz: +$4.00
Exercise, 30 min: +$3.00
Reached Calorie Goal: +$2.00
Updated This: +$1.50

Weighed twice this week, so -$2.00

Total for Friday 2/8 = $8.50
Total as of last post = $12.50

Total so far this month = $21.00 in the bank so far! :-)

--------------------------------------------- ------

I hope this will help clear up any confusion.  I'll also keep track of your total amounts below.

FAQ

1. If you weigh in every single day, it's -$2.00 flat rate for the week.  If you weigh in only twice in one week, it's still $-2.00.

2. Say your calorie target is 1550.  You can make your goal range to be between 1450 and 1650 and not penalize yourself.  Let's not worry about only a few calories here!  You decide if you think you did good for the day.   Just be honest!

3. The winner will receive the certificate through email the first week of March.

4. Yes, I'll be keeping track of my "money", but I won't win... Even if I did, the "runner-up" would be the one to get the certificate! :-)

Awesome! I'll be posting my info later on tonight. Glad to hear your internet is back up Mandi!

Great!  I think I contacted everyone to tell them about the new thread, so hopefully everyone will be posting here starting tonight/tomorrow.

I was going crazy without my internet!

Thanx for the PM, I've been keeping track, but not "updating" in the thread.  I'm just gonna start today instead of posting from the 1st.  Just for my own motivation, I don't think I'm gonna win =)

I'm not starting out very well am I.  I've had a hard time staying within my calorie range this week.  Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I've totally been slacking on the exercise these past few days. School is stressing me out to no end, and for some reason I'm really depressed and down on myself.

This is really helping me!  I've been tempted to blow my calorie goal a couple times, but didn't want to lose the $2.00.  I'm so cheap! Plus, I'm beginning to think I can drink my way to riches! Laughing

I weighed myself today, so if I weigh again this week, I'm down $2. Good news? I thought I'd be up in weight because I'd gone over quite a bit the past few days, but I'm still the same. yay.

I'm also having a lot of fun with this. I'd definitely be up for it again next month!

I'm just throwing this out there, but if there's something else that's special, that you want to try to do, health related, i.e. personal goal of no candy, personal goal of no pop, personal goal of100 crunches per day, etc, I think it'd be fun if next time, we allowed each person to pick one personal goal like that, and if they reached it, give em a buck each day. Whatchya think?
