I was j/w can we run barefoot on the sand ok w/o problems? I've never done it personally, but been 2 a couple of sites that say barefoot is more natural, etc... what do u all think??
Thanks,

id say go for it...just run on the wet sand close to the shore line....it would definitely strengthen your feet. Just be careful about sharp objects(sand,glass)....they tend to be all around beaches. Otherwise its fun ^_^
i second what socc said. Running on sand is fine in barfeet. Ive done it plenty of times heading out to surf. You will feel it though in areas of your feet you didnt even know you had muscles in LOL
Running bare foot is really good for you, it strenghtens your ankle and your foot.
I thought running on the wet part of the sand barefoot was bad. I run at the beach every day and before I had shoes I went barefoot. That created an ankle problem and wasnt able to run for 2 weeks. During my down time I grabbed a nice pair of running shoes. Maybe its just the way I was running though.
I did this last week. I was on the beach in Michigan and ran barefoot every night. My ankles were so sore, but it was a really nice workout. Have fun!
I do it both with bare feet and in sneakers...
I find that the splash of cold water sometimes makes the run a little more enjoyable!
However the sneakers are good because there is much less strain/impact.

I live on an island/have beach rights and I love running barefoot on the beach. I do it often and the biggest problem is stepping on a rock!
It depends on the beach. Running barefoot is good but some of these beaches are sketchy. I stepped on nasty things at the beach.
