Bay Area Get Together!

Okay.

I'd love to get together with a group of health conscious people and explore the city, go on hikes, find new places to eat, watch movies, etc,.

Problem is, I'm a bit shy when it comes to new people, in person. Thus, the internet is my refuge! Are there any other people in the bay area (San Francisco, Marin, Oakland, Berkeley, Daly City, Pacifica, etc,.?) who would like to join me for some friendly get togethers? 

This can be weekends or weekdays after work, either way, I just want to make new friends with people that are same minded when it comes to eating well (we won't go to BK or McD's!) and staying fit (while we may watch a movie, we can also go hiking earlier in the day!)

I work in SF 8-5 Monday through Friday. I live in Pacifica :) Anyone else want to join in the fun?

Hi Mykanos:  It's my pleasure to have a little shindig at my place.  We have plenty of vino but that's sweet of you to offer to bring something (that bottle might get a little heavy after 7 miles!)  We also have a lot of bottled water for the non-drinkers.  And, of course, the snacks will be healthy.  If we run out of foodies/libations, Safeway is across the street!

Where are you going on vacation?

Hi Michelle!!  I am renting a beach house in Santa Cruz beginning on Monday May 19th, so this  pre vacation week shindig just sounds like so much fun and a great way to "kick off"!!!  I used to try to go far away for vacations but have found that our Lovely California and Bay Area has some of the best places to be happy. 

You're right, the bottle might be uncessarily heavy so it is good to know that Safeway is right across the street! I'll go that route instead.

I need to make my skirt still, but other than that I think (hopefully) my costume is done, provided Milli comes through with the awesome ladybug wings and antennae!

I'm glad Safeway is there too, because after 7 miles of walking, we're all going to be starving and thirsty! :D

I am SO EXCITED!!!  I booked a hotel for Sat and Sun and two of my friends are joining as well.  I don't have a costume  worked out but have a few thoughts, so I'll work it out.  Did we pick a location to meet?  There's going to be a million people there so how will we find each other?  I stress about stuff like that!!!

I think we had mentioned the Ferry Building but it might be difficult to find each other.  Is your hotel near the Embarcadero?  If so, perhaps we can meet there?  And we should probably exchange cell numbers!

I was PM'ing Moogs over the weekend and she had suggested meeting at Cowgirl Creamery in the Ferry building or to pick out a store to meet at since the Ferry Building is so large.   I will send you my cell phone number!

I vote for meeting at a specific spot as well. It's going to be insanely crowded no matter where we go, so we should have a designated spot, and everyone's cell phone!

Of course I'm biased toward a meeting spot wear I can eat free samples of cheese while we wait, but Mykanos, is your hotel really close to the starting line? That could work too...

Nasuoni, I found the lady bug wings and antennae. The antennae aren't very impressive looking, but should do the trick.

I'm staying at the Le Meridien on Battery, I think it is 4 blocks from the Embarcadero!  Either way is fine with me! I'm really not sure where the starting line is in proximity to the hotel, I just know the hotel is close to the Embarcadero and Ferry Bldg.  We can meet at the hotel if you guys want!

The Ferry Building is closer to the starting line at Mission and Steurart. Ferry Building is also closer to Muni/Bart station at the Embarcadero. It will probably be more crowded though...so maybe the hotel would be best??? What if I collapse 4 blocks from the finish line and it was those four blocks from your hotel that did me in?

Then we would all pitch in and carry you the last 4 blocks to the finish line, then being the true CC'ers that we are, we would look up how many calories we burned "Carry moogiesue13 four blocks to finish line" !

There's a bar right behind my office on First Street called 83 Proof that is opening "painfully early" for B2B so that's another optional meeting place.  (Just kidding!!)  Just be forwarned that they "reserve the right to refuse you service if you are naked".

So do you think we'll see any naked people at B2B?

Maybe we should shoot for  7:15 since we'll have to walk to the starting line and it will probably be really crowded.

Ack!!!!  Ixnay on the sprinting in the buff through the park!  I don't want to scare anyone so I'll wait and peel off my costume when I'm in the ocean! 

I just have to say I'm so jealous of this get together.  I live near Sacramento and would normally be in the bay area in an instant to see you guys but I have a family thing.  I hope you all have fun and I can't wait for the next one!  Take lots of pictures!
