Bay Area Get Together!

Okay.

I'd love to get together with a group of health conscious people and explore the city, go on hikes, find new places to eat, watch movies, etc,.

Problem is, I'm a bit shy when it comes to new people, in person. Thus, the internet is my refuge! Are there any other people in the bay area (San Francisco, Marin, Oakland, Berkeley, Daly City, Pacifica, etc,.?) who would like to join me for some friendly get togethers? 

This can be weekends or weekdays after work, either way, I just want to make new friends with people that are same minded when it comes to eating well (we won't go to BK or McD's!) and staying fit (while we may watch a movie, we can also go hiking earlier in the day!)

I work in SF 8-5 Monday through Friday. I live in Pacifica :) Anyone else want to join in the fun?

Okay...so a day at Angel Island. I'm going to randomly pick the date as Sunday, June 22nd. Does that work for everyone?

I'll be taking the Tiburon Ferry in for those who would like to meet in Marin, but there are also ferries from Oakland/Alameda/Vallejo & SF.

I'll probably bring a bike and ride around the island too, maybe have a picnic type lunch and/or do some hiking. Thoughts??? Anyone???

The path that covers the whole island is nice.  I think it is 5 miles round trip.  There are some steep parts, but nothing unmanageable (just enough to get me out of breath).  There's also some trails off that which go higher and have cool trails (Josh and I camped there a few years ago).

I think it is a perfect place for a picnic too... but someone needs to bring a frisbee!  :)

Oh oh! I wanna go! I think the 22nd would be perfect. I'll have to check to make sure, but I'm in! :D (like Flinn..heh)

Sounds fun!  I haven't been to Angel Island in years.  Maybe I'll bring my bike too.  I'm pretty sure I can make it - will let you know!

My best friend lives there during the school year! I'll have to drop by sometime when I'm down there :)

my boyfriend and I live in San Lorenzo and we're usually bored on Sundays...we are basically 10 mins away from the A's colleseum so if anyone wants to tailgate or just go to an A's game let me know!

San Jose girl right here. Did anyone else see the red moon last night? It wasn't a Harvest Moon. I read that it was caused from the fires yesterday. It was crazy when the sun went down, the sky was orange and everything else looked orange because of it, even the grass in my backyard. Kinda freaky since it was Friday the 13th and all.

I did see the crazy red moon! It was freaky but cool.

Does anyone have a preference on meeting time and place? Adria, will you be driving to marin to take the ferry or will you take the ferry from SF and meet us on the Island?

Crap I don't know if I'm even going anymore. One of my friends texted me last night about what we're doing for her BIRTHDAY on Monday. I totally spaced it. I may have to do something Sunday, so I don't want to say I'm coming then have to bail on Sunday...Count me out unless otherwise notified :(

What about Saturday?

Saturday morning I'm doing kickboxing, but I'd be free after around Noon or so?

Sat would probably be better for me too.  Josh is going to the Delta, so I'm on my own.

Sun I theoretically have family obligations (my mom wants to do brunch for her birthday, and I'm trying to avoid it 'cause I hate brunch... but may have to go anyway)

Ok, there's a ferry from Tiburon at 12 & 1, last ferry is leaving the island at 5:20.

Denise & Adria, are you driving to Marin or will you meet us on the island?

I would take the ferry and meet you, it's cheaper than gas I think.

We just got some new people in at work and today, somehow I got roped into showing them around tomorrow! I wish I could have checked CC so I could have said I was busy.. oh well. I would love to take them to Angel Island except that they haven't been paid yet and I would end up paying and of course can't afford ferries for 5 of us...
