BBQ Pork Ribs
I recently fell in love again with a local BBQ restaurant called Corky's. I love their ribs and pulled pork and even though I knew it wasn't healthy, I didn't realize how terrible it was. I looked up some information on some barbecue pork ribs and they had 95g of fat and almost 1,500 calories! Is this the worst possible food I could be eating? I have been doing really well during the week, but on the weekend I take my nephew to this restaurant after work.
Can anyone give me more nutritional information on ribs and other barbecued items? Am I the only one who can't resist this delicious food?

95 grams of fat? I'm think that is double of your reccomended fat intake.
You can try grilled chicken/turkey breast with lime and cilantro. I love that. Tastes great with brown rice, guacamole and "lite" sour cream on the side.
I can't suggest anything that taste like pork though, as I've never eaten it.

This recipe pork ribs I put into the database was good, a tad salty, so I bought reduced-sodium soy sauce for next time. The trick of course is to precook in the oven to get rid of a lot of fat, then put into a slow cook or cook over low heat on the stovetop. I have a bigger version of the same in the recipe section.
I would say if you like ribs, cook your own. I know that is not as fun.

This probably sounds a little lame, but I like to do a bunch of cooking once per month and freeze everything. I LOVE to eat out, but like you said, bbq is terrible. So I get cute little chinese food boxes and other neat containers (Check places like the Dollar Tree or another 99cent place) and put a serving in a freezer bag inside. Then when we want to eat out, it at least feels like we've gotten take out. Also, if I've made the food weeks ago and the dishes are already done, and all is forgotten, the meal still has all the carefree fun of someone else's cooking.
