Hello All,
Its been a while since I have been on this board...or actually counting calories. After gaining nearly 10lbs back over the Holidays...I am back and very serious about the whole weight loss thing.
I was looking at my goal date and its set for my Birth Day july 11, to be 40lbs lighter.
I was wondering if anyone else would be reaching their goal sometimes around summer and would like to join me for a bit of support.
Welcome to the Group. This group is Officially FULL!!! This group is exclusively for those wanting to reach their goals by July of 2009. Each week members will post Weekly goals, updates, and weigh-ins.
TUESDAYS are the Official Check in Day. Please post your weight from Last week (LW), Current Weight (CW), and your Weekly goals for Nutrition, Fitness, and Weightloss. Don't forget to review any goals that weren't met the previous week.

My goals for last week:
Nutrition goal: no eating from the breadbasket when I go out to eat. Also, eat a normal portion at restaurants instead of the mega-portion they serve. COMPLETED
Exercise goal: 3 pilates DVD sessions in addition to my normal cardio. MISSED (Did two, but not 3).
THIS WEEK's goals:
Nutrition goal: 1) Same as last week; 2) Start eating another vegetable instead of celery for snack. What is celery good for anyway? I see on the nutrtion content there is nothing to it!!? No vitamins or minerals. So my goal is to get a little creative and try bringing some veggies that might offer me something in the way of nutrition.
Exercise goal: Same as last week: 3 pilates DVD sessions in addition to my normal cardio. I can't seem to get to 3--I always do two. My days will be: Wednesday, Saturday, Monday

I didn't do so hot last week. I didn't log my calories but kept a mental check of what I was eating. (For example skipped eating butter and other High calorie foods ect)
I also didn't work out that much last week, I think maybe twice.
I am back at it today though. I am glad to see that I did drop one pound though.
My goal this week: Work out every day, Eat less fat, and get plenty of rest.
Good luck everyone, I am so glad to see everyone sticking to it. We'll reach our goals eventually. I was looking back over the month of Jan, and realized that losing 3lbs in a month wasn't so bad, and that over a year I would reach my goal if I continued at the same rate.

I had another bad week! I think I ate ALL the food I have been craving, in one week...steak, pizza, mcdonalds (made my stomach hurt, by the way), lots of chocolate from v-day.
I am not surprised that I had a weight gain. Since I started CC back in October, I have lost 8.6 lbs. I have 20.4 lbs left to lose to get to my goal weight on July 10, 2009. Hopefully, I will be able to do better this week since I ate all bad food last week.
Weight Goal: Lose weight this week. I really need to get back on track!
Nutrition Goal: Stay in the range of 1300-1600 calories, EVERY day this weke.
Exercise Goal: Go to the gym at least 3 times by next Tuesday.

I have a new scale and it was five pounds heavier than my scale at the gym but now it's lower than what my last scale reading said! So I'm not sure what my weight is, actually hehe
My starting weight (according to the gym scale) was 205.4
My last gym scale reading on Friday was 197.8
On Sunday my new scale said 201 (noooo)
Today my new scale said 196.8.
So...I'm not sure what I weigh and how much progress I've made, but I am on a tighter belt notch than I was, so that's got to be good, right!?

So I lost half a pound this week! Not as much as I would have hoped but i haven't been 'quite' as committed recently so any loss is pretty good!
Goals:
1. Get to the gym at least 3 times this week
2. Try and eliminate all the diet slip ups; Im losing, but not as fast as Id like to, especially if i want to hit my goal by summer!
So, 3. Lose at least an entire POUND this week!
Good Morning everyone. Today is Check in day.
I weighed last week and I had gained about 4 ouces. Not that big of a deal as it was time for AF.
I went a way for the weekend, and ate out for nearly EVERY meal but 2, and I realized I had slacked up on chosing low calorie foods while I was out. Next time I go on a long trip I am taking my Calorie King book with me so I get it right.
I also went nuts when i seen the ceasar salad on the Pizza Buffet, I put the Ceasar dressing on the salad without even thinking about te fact that most ceasar dressing have over 100 calories per table spoon. YIKES!!!
SO today I am going to work out, and I am going to work out Tomarrow as well.
I will check back in with my weight this afternoon, it will not suprise me ONE bit if I have gained all of my weight back.

Food, Count my Calories and Watch the Fat Content

So, I lost a little this week. I have only went over my calories once, when I indulged in some pizza hut cheese bread. This weeks goals:
Exercise: Work out 3 times
Nutrition: Count ALL calories, and stay within range. I have a bachelorette party this weekend for a friend of mine, and I am hoping I can even stay in my calories during that day as well...
Weight: Weigh 153.8 next week. I think my goal for March is going to be to get in the 140s..haven't been there in about 2 years!

Anyway, Ive done OK this week, had a bit too much easter chocolate yday, but:

So, I hit my goal and lost a pound this week! Im pretty happy with that as at the moment Im completely snowed under with Uni work, so I probably wont be able to get up to the gym regularly until at least the 13th march.
So, Ive decided to concentrate on eating healthily and aim to only lose a pound a week until then, then Ill get back into the exercise! Its fine as long as i have a plan!
Good luck guys; if you ever feel down just think about the amount of people we've lost since this group started-you've already done amazingly, now we need to see it through!

Last night I went to the Gym to do my strength training workout. For now the Spin class is where some of the free weights are, and I like to work out in that area because its seperate from the rest of the gym. I asked the lady at the desk if there was a Spinning class, and Next thing I know the entire training staff is telling me the wonders of Spinning. I HAVE never taken an exercise class of any kind because I am afriad it would be beyond my fitness level. I found myself on a Spin Bike for about an hour and 20 minutes. :) I did the whole work out. It was tough but I did it. I also burned about 400 calories. The people in the class were fun to be around, everyone was talking and making jokes. It was like I had my own little cheer squad.
SO tonight I am doing my strength Training workout. I'll try to make it back to the spinning class next Tuesday.
Now if I could get the scale to move. According to the scale I maintained. I would rather maintain than gain that's for sure.
BTW, Over the weekend I am going to email all of the members of the group. It could be that "Life Happened". I will also try and post a "Question of the Weekend" for everyone to share things that are working for them.

I weighed 200 pounds and now I am at 183! I want to get down to 150 by June 6 (last day of school)

Whats your Favorite peice of Cardio Equipment at the Gym and Why??
I Love the Elliptical. I really like the one at my gym because it can target just legs or arms...something other ellipticals say they can do! I also burn calories on the Elliptical, than the Treadmill...but I have yet to get on a stair climber which is where I hear the real burn happens.

I also love the elliptical. I like that I can adjust incline to work different parts of my legs and adjust resistance to burn more calories. Speaking of the gym, I am on my way! I am wanting to have a good cardio workout so I can have some room for error on calories..tonight is my friend's bach party. I am bringing my own light beer to drink and a veggie tray to snack on. I am going to TRY to stay away from the strawberry daquiries and velveeta cheese dip...

Goals from last week- I did good on my calorie ranges. I exercised twice. I lost almost a whole pound. I agree that we should be proud for sticking with the group. Not many people still post..should we accept new members?
Exercise Goal: Go to gym 3x.
Nutrition Goal: Have a 580 deficit every day. (trying to lose 5 lbs this month).
Weight Goal: Hit 153 next week. My goal for the month is to get back into the 140s. I usually hit a plateau at the lower end of the 150s, but I am determined this time!

So I lost another 1lb!! I seem to have settled into a nice pattern now of 1lb a week; its strange though, because a few months ago, (on one of my numerous unsuccessful weight loss attempts) I would have been horribly disappointed!
Every week when I weigh myself at the moment, Im always terrified Im going to have gained, because Im eating (comparatively) SO much, Im always slightly surprised that Ive lost anything! I guess thats a good thing though, cause Im eating healthily (80% of the time) and the weight is coming off, although slowly, I'm still able to have treats and enjoy myself, but still losing!
Sorry if that was rambling and hard to understand-I think I just had an epiphany this morning i thought i'd share!
Mini Goal:
By two weeks today Im aiming to loose 2.5lbs and FINALLY reach my first mini-goal of 165lbs. Then Im going to do something to reward myself I think....I'll have to have a think!
And, lw; yeah, might as well accept new members; its only me, you and weddingmama left!!

Congrats on the weight loss cassie! I also get terrified when I step on the scale..those few seconds where it is calculating my weight are the worst! I just have to keep reminding myself that if I want to lose the weight for good, I just need to keep at it. I think it was Denise that said even at a few ounces lost a week, I will eventually get to my goal!
I feel like I eat more, too. Before, I would eat out (fast food) a couple times a day and that was it. It is hard to believe that just two meals caused me to gain weight while eating like 4 small meals and snacks is letting me lose weight.
I have decided that if I meet my goals during the week, I get to buy a new song for my Ipod...so I could possibly get to buy three songs this week. You should do something extra special when you reach 165!
Am I allowed back in this group?? I haven't posted in ages cause I had to get my thyroid sorted and nothing was happening and I thought there's no point posting if my weight isn't changing! Now I'm fine and back on the bandwagon! Back at square one and ready to go. Pretty please? ![]()

hey, luthien-yeah of course you can join back-the more the merrier! glad you got the thyroid sorted; one of my friends just got diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and is struggling, but she's started losing again too!
And lw, the itunes idea is really good; for the first couple of pounds I bought albums to work out to, but a song for reaching a goal is much easier on the wallet; Im definitely going to do the same!
Its crazy how relatively little I used to eat too; its much nicer eating healthily, you get soooooooo much more!
Still no idea what to do when I reach 165; Ill probably decide when I get there, but right now Im leaning towards a haircut-haven't had one since June; poor student, so its easier to let it grow. I think it would be encouraging though, having a self-improving goal!
Luthein, Welcome back. I decided to keep this group open for everyone that joined, so people can come back. I know what its like to get side tacked on my goals and when I am ready get back there's no support.
Sorry I am checking in so late. We had more snow in North Carolina earlier this week, and I DO NOT drive when there's snow on the road. My gage for when its okay to drive is when the snow has melted from my mini van. lol. I have had only one work out this week. Of late I am thinking of trying out a 5K race. I trained for one last summer and was unable to participate because I busted my toe while packing boxes. I am thinking of trying one in April.

This is kind of bitter sweet, since It was a different scale. The digital scale was gone. I am sure its pretty accurate it wieghs my DS the same as the one at the doctors office.
I am trying to figure out how I can lose weight that fast...I mean nearly 10lbs in about two weeks. That doesn't seem right. But I remember using this scale before and being much heavier. I think I am in weight loss denial. LOL.
This weeks Goals
-Try a New Strength Training Routine, Run a mile on the tread mill.
-Eat my Greens, and Eat my fruit. I have had cravings for processed stuff lately
-Lose at least a .5 lb.

Hey weddingmama! Don't worry bout checking in late; Im not sure Ive EVER checked in the right day-I get confused with the time differences; and I cannot WAIT until Spring now; the weather this Winter has been crazy!
And congratulations on the weightloss! Either way you lost some poundage so celebrate it and keep going!
Im thinking of doing a 5k this Summer too; If I did it for charity perhaps it would motivate me a bit more! Ive had a bit of an up/down week with PMS and a lot of essays due. I think Im getting it all under control now, but I HATE having these stupid slip-ups, I know they don't set you back too much but Im the kind of person who, if Im going to fall off the wagon, does it in style... ![]()
