Beach Body by July, Group (CLOSED)
Hello All,
Its been a while since I have been on this board...or actually counting calories. After gaining nearly 10lbs back over the Holidays...I am back and very serious about the whole weight loss thing.
I was looking at my goal date and its set for my Birth Day july 11, to be 40lbs lighter.
I was wondering if anyone else would be reaching their goal sometimes around summer and would like to join me for a bit of support.
Welcome to the Group. This group is Officially FULL!!! This group is exclusively for those wanting to reach their goals by July of 2009. Each week members will post Weekly goals, updates, and weigh-ins.
TUESDAYS are the Official Check in Day. Please post your weight from Last week (LW), Current Weight (CW), and your Weekly goals for Nutrition, Fitness, and Weightloss. Don't forget to review any goals that weren't met the previous week.
Good luck everyone, we need each other support and motivation. This thread will be open until July 30th 2009.
Well I am going for the 5K. I am going start working out on running while the weather is nice. Funny how we were under a foot of snow this time last week and now its 80...
I did dust off my bike and DS and I have gone bike riding the last few afternoons..which IMO is nicer than going to the Gym. LOL

So, I lost half a pound, am a bit disappointed as i had been losing a steady pound a week, but then again, i haven't been that good with food choices! Ah well, goals for the week:
-Try and have 3 meals and 2 snacks. Stop snacking in between
-Attempt to get some exercise in at least 3 times
Anyway, Ill check back later, have to finish a terrible essay this afternoon! :-s

I lost a pound so I'm really pleased, it's a good start for me. Also losing the inches quite quickly which is a bonus. Two inches off my hips and one off my waist! My food choices have been okay but exercise needs bumping up a notch so...
- Keep an eye on food choices, try not to stray when snacking
- More exercise needed, walking every day is not gonna be enough!

Gained a few ounces. I am still aiming to get in the 140s by the end of the month. Did well on food this week, not so well on working out. Congrats to everyone on losing weight and sticking with it!
This weeks goals:
-Go to the Gym!! (I went today, and I am going to try to make it to at least 3 times before Tuesday.)
-No alcohol or fast food.
-Keep a positive attitude.

It's liking me comment so I'm hoping your group really isn't closed. I have been doing P90 since 7/7/08 and I was down 27lbs. I've gained 7lbs since christmas and as of this morning I've rededicated myself to the program completely. I didn't miss any workouts when I was gaining. I was just eating more so it's back to the first 90 days for me. My goal is to be at my goal weight by this July and strong enough to do P90X. If there is room in your group please let me know.

I did well on the food this week. I went to the gym twice, and also tried to add in some more activity to my work day, like walking around the room when I am on the phone and getting up and stretching/jump around a little. I bet people think I look weird, lol. I did not eat any fast food, but I did drink on Saturday. I am happy that I lost a pound! Hope everyone's week is going well.
Goals for next week:
-No alcohol.
-Go to the gym!
-Lose one lb this week by staying within the 1300-1500 range everyday.
Sorry ladies, I didn't check in last week, the scale was the same as the week before. AF showed up and I forgot to write down the date and time on my chart..by the time I remembered to it I couldn't remember the exact day. So my cycle chart is all screwed up. No that means protection all this cycle..DP is going to be thrilled about that (insert sarcasm)
Last week I put on a pair of Jeans that I havent worn in almost two years. They were GREAT!!! A little tight around the waiste..but I didn't have plummbers butt :)
I also ran a mile on the treadmill 13 minutes and 34 seconds to be exact. Not to shabby and I didn't stop running until I had completed a full mile. I bought new running shoes (from the local Big Box store...I am on a tight budget of not having any MONEY! ) and I also found I nice work out shirt (moisture wicking material) for $2 at the same place. LOL.
This week My goal is buy myself a special note book just for my Food Diary. I don't log my food on CC because it takes far too long (over an hour for one day of food).
DP is going to show me how to swim. I can swim as in keep my head above water and doggy paddle...but I cannot "SWIM". He's going to show me some strokes for competition swimming...in case I really do go for the triathalon.
~Cam you are more than welcome to Join us. I have considered P90X, just have something to work out with at home...but I cannot afford it right now.
Thanks Weddingmama!. I realize I need more support than my ex-boyfriend. Long story. Anywhoo, I've been sticking to the diet and I've recommitted myself to the workout.
Comittment is about all you need. I have learnd from the past failures that I cannot really rely on anyone to help me make personal changes. Sad but true.
I like the online support that I get, plus with me being a bit of "leader", I feel comitted to the ladies in this thread..who knows by summer we'll all have reached our goals. :)

Hey guys! Very late this week! I had a stupid essay which Ive been in bits over all week, just drew a line under it tonight though so whatever will be, will be!

So, gained half a pound, deeply unsurprising, Ive been at a computer all week and its TOM for me too! But the Easter holidays officially start tomorrow so I have looooads of free time: planning to get my bike out and am setting an unofficial goal of reaching 160 by the time I get back to Uni in 5 weeks!

I haven't weighed, but after the sort of week I have had I'd rather not!!!
After I checked in Last week, it was a roller coaster of Budget sorting, things to do, and places to go. By the time shopping came around I had forgotten about my need for a journal. The reason is because I haven't logged calories, and I totally forgot.
I have been riding my bike over the past week or so. I really plan on getting back in the gym, some of the physical progress I have made is waining.
Good News, after much arguing and debate our family finally arrived at a solution for dinner time. All male members of the house hold get one night a week to pick a dinner of their choice. I get two nights a week. The other two nights are pasta or soup night. As the cook I reserve the right to prepare meals in such a way that would reduce calorie content without comprimising taste and enjoyability.
Last night was DS's night, and he wanted Mac n CHeese. I made Mac n CHeese with Sharp cheddar and butter. IT WAS SOO good, but I didn't come on here to find out the calorie content per serving. I fell off the wagon todays in a row, first Sunday I made Fried chicken with Mashed Taters, Corn, and Green Beans, then last night was mac n cheese.
I'll be back with my weight. I plan on going to they gym this afternoon.

Sorry I am a little late again. I didn't weigh myself this morning. I have pretty much fallen off the wagon the last week...and right into a big pile of food! I am sure that I have gained a little, so I am going to try to stick to my diet and exercise for the rest of the week. Hopefully by next Tuesday I will be back to normal. As far as last weeks goals, the only one I stuck with was no alcohol. Next week I am going on a little mini vaca to Dallas with a friend on Tuesday and Wednesday. I am hoping that I won't go too overboard with the food/drinking.
Denise, that is a great idea about picking days for food. My boyfriend always wants things like pizza and other fast food. He also cooks more than I do, and it is usually something high calorie. I may try to convince him to let me pick the food some nights. =)
Goals for the week:
-No fast food. (I don't count subway in this category.)
-Go to the gym!!! (I really need to get on this one because I bought a semester membership, and it is a waste of money if I am not going.)
-Log ALL calories.

I weighed myself Teusday evening at the gym and my weight was dead on 177. That means I have lost a full pound. :)
While at the gym I had one of the trainers show me how to use the Weight Machines. Its been a LONG time since I used those types of machines and needed a refresher.
I think I am going to join the 6PM spin class on Teusday nights. Two weeks in a row I have been asked if I'll be coming back. I have been armed with an excuse the whole time, but I could certainly use the motivation from 10 or so very inshape people.

hey guys! -weddingmama you seem to be doing really well at the moment, I wouldn't worry about falling off the wagon a couple of days as long as you get back on! Spin Class sounds good too-just don't eat too close to the class: i had a friend who got off her bike and threw up EVERYWHERE, it was hilarious: for the rest of us anyway!!
I'm obscenely late checking in this week: in fact i think now Im early for next week! but anyway, I had to have some surgery this week: kind of an ongoing issue which is hopefully now resolved, but i haven't really been exercising and can't for a week or so.
Sooooo, Im not going to weigh myself at the moment, but i have been eating pretty healthily so I don't THINK I've gained! Ill be back to the weight loss when Im feeling better but i'm gonna continue to check in, you guys are motivating me at the moment to recover and get back to it!

Hello all. Hope everyones week is going well. I went on a little mini vaca last week, and was very terrible on my diet. I have been going strong since last Thursday...no alcohol, fast food, or going over on calories. I have not been to the gym because I have had a really bad sinus infection. The pollen around where I live is terrible right now! I am hoping to feel up to working out again by this Thursday or Friday. My boyfriend has decided he wants to have a pool party for his bday in July, which means that I am going to need to step it up to feel comfortable in a swimsuit by then!

Nutrition Goal: Stay in calorie range every day. (1500-1600)
Exercise Goal: Workout 3x by next tuesday.
Weight goal: I would be excited to get down to 152.0 That would be the lowest I have weighed in a while. If I do well, I might pull it off!

Here I am! I have had so so weeks with logging food and exercising. Other than staying super active with the kids (I went for a 4 mile hike in the woods with the kids, swimming ect) I haven't really made it to the gym.

THe scale doesn't lie, my body is finally losing weight. :) I am soo excited about this. The next two weeks are going to be CRAZY!. DP and I are going on night away (we'ev only been a way from DS one other time over night) to see a concert, and then we'ev got four days of camping at a music Festival.
I know there's a lot going on for everyone right now. I have a 10 page paper, plus a final coming up at the end of the month, plus I am looking for an internship. Not to mention Graduation which I WILL Not miss, though I am 2 hours away.

Nutrition: I have a night out for a birthday dinner on Sunday, So I am going to try to stay in the 1400-1500 range all week to give me a little calorie surplus.
Exercise: Do something physical every day.
Weight: Lose a pound.

Well, I am getting there! Slowly but surely..
I did really well this week as far as staying in my calorie range. I did not get much exercise done. It is time for my final exams, so I probably will slack a little this week on exercising. After I get my projects done, I plan to get to the gym!

Hello everyone.
I apologize to everyone in this group for kinda neglecting the thread for the past few weeks. I have been soo busy with school and now that its finally over, and my family is finally getting settled again from a few weeks of activities (spring break, camping, concerts ect) I can devote LOTS of time to you guys.
Some quick things.
last I wieghed I was back at 177. :( So I gained a few pounds.
DP noticed I hadn't gone to gym in a while, and rightfully so..we really don't have gas for three trips a week into town JUST for the gym. I have to try and make time here at home for a while.
We'ev been sharing meals as a family in front of the TV and I think that's lead to some weight gain....I normally get seconds if I am not sitting at the table (isn't that weird).
I plan on PM'ing everyone tonight, to remind everyone that we are still a group, and we all need a swift kick in the butt to meet our goals!
