First, have you ever tried Beano (OTC tablets)?  It helps with gassiness often caused by beans. You just take it with your meal.  It works for me.

My favorite to make, and probably the quickest beans out there, are lentils.  They take about 45 min to cook, no soaking needed, and they are delicious as soup or with brown rice for a complete protein without meat.  Cheap, too!

If you buy canned beans, you can rinse them before adding to other dishes.  I have read that rinsing also works after soaking if you start out with dried beans.  It may not take all the problems away, but it can help.

The key is to slowly introduce them into your diet.  Try 1-2 servings per week until you get used to them.  I eat beans 2-4 times per week and lentils several times per month.

If you buy canned beans, rinse them off before use.  If you soak beans over night, rinse them off before adding fresh water to boil them.  After they are cooked, rinse them off again.

Kidney beans are really tasty in chili.  Black beans or adzuzi beans are really good in burritos or tacos.  Lentils are lovely in soup or tossed over salad.

Beano is a great solution to gas problems.  Beans - all kinds are so good for your body and a great source of protein and fiber.  I can't eat Kidney beans though, they are very bad for me.

Thank you ~ for all your replies!

1. I have tried Beano before- but did not work so well-- I do have very weak digestive system and some food goes in and comes out without even changing shape after being chewed... not to be gross or anything .. but you can literally identify them

2. so what I am getting from you guys are that I should cook them longer, soak it longer and it will be digested better????

3. and since I am a vegan, I did want to get beans- now I do soy milk as liquid works well

Hi,  I have the same problem with beans.  this weekend i soaked my dried chickpeas for almost 20 hrs then cooked them close to 2 hrs.  so far last night and today I had no more than my normal stomache problems.  they are really good for you as well and inexpensive if you buy in bulk.  I will make hummus tonight. yeah chickpeas.

and if you are vegan....you really need to learn to love beans...
You could make fermented bean paste, that way it would be predigested from the fermentation and it would be alot easier to digest. You can use it as a dip. If you want the recipe ask me. =)
