How do you beat the Boredom and what are some of your hunger food ideas?

hey there... I actually have found that I am cooking more creative meals because I am trying to lose weight... I actually plan what I am going to eat beforehand (and don't jsut stuff my face when I get hungry)... I also play around with spices more and have found that I actually can be a good cook when I try! As for hunger foods... I eat alot of all natural apple sauce, have fudgesicles in the freezer (40 cals a pop), pudding, popcorn, animal cookies, pistachios... and, if I am craving something, I try to find a way to fit it in my calorie count for the day... I love food too much to give anything up, I am just trying to be wiser about what/how I eat... :-)

I always try to keep low cal boredom foods around just incase I get the urge. I stock the mini popcorn bags, sugar free jello, miso soup, sunflower seeds (in the shell)...

Great post slimrob

lizzie great ideas, I have a few new ideas to add to my list now, usually for me it was a pack of tuna, a soy protein drink, almonds, but now i can add apple sauce, fudgesicles, pudding to my lists.

As for recipes, I am always looking to steal as well as share so please let me know if you post any

Thanks

K

Nice! Thanks!

I like savory foods (read: salty, UGH!) so my snacks usually consist of things like spicy hummus and fresh veggies; olives; a bag of Smart Puffs (made by the Pirates Booty makers) which only has 130 calories; pickles; artichoke hearts (yummmm); etc.

I'll never run the risk of eating too much sugar, but salt is another story.  I try to keep it to under 3000mg a day.  Unfortunately, I find salt to be the best way to substitute for calories.

PS - miso soup is a GODSEND!!!
