Beautiful Amazon's over 200
Hello & Happy New Year!
After having read many posts written by women with similar body types and weight goals as mine I thought it might be fun to start a thread of communication dedicated to women over 5'5" and over 200 pounds.
I am 5'7" & as of last Sunday currently weighing in at 212lbs. My goal is to reach 175lbs by September and would love to share this journey with other gals who are committed to healthy weight loss. Who's game?

I'm always game.
I'm 5'8 and 293 pounds. My goal is 200 by the end of the year, an agressive goal, I know but one that I know I can accomplish.
It's kind of funny when I tell people my real weight. I guess they don't think that I really weigh that much because I'm tall. Tall does not always equal skinny and healthy. lol.

I know what you mean! I also get the response..."well, you're tall, you can carry it."
UGH!
I'm happy that you are up for this thread, my plan is to report calories & movement daily as I truck along. I guess I should start now :o)
Calories: 1,575
Movement: not much... a rest day for me.
Overall I ate pretty well today, however I could have left the 2nd tsp of vegenaise off of my sandwich tonight.
Marimbagirl, your goal is agressive but very "do-able" at less than 2lbs a week. Good luck! I'm rooting for you.
Woot! Woot!

I have no clue how many calories I've eaten today. Haven't really been watching that closely. I know...bad idea.
I'm going to get back on track tomorrow though...

I love this thread! I am 5'10 and currently weigh 224. Just like Avesha, I am aways told "I would have never known...You carry your weight so well. The fact is I don't care what other people think. I am not happy with how I carry the weight. I am going to be 30 + 10 :-) in 2 months and I want to be healthy.
Hi dronkhorst! Welcome!
I'm happy to see that you are doing this for yourself, not for others. You're right, it doesn't matter what other people think! :o) I'm trying really hard to remember that everyday...
I hope we can all help eachother keep on track and headed for healthier bodies. Good Luck!

hello yall! my name is meghan and im 5'9" currently weighing in at 251lbs. i started in July 06 at 293lbs. being petrified of hitting 300lbs i started on the road to a new me. 42lbs later im still working at it. my fitness level has increased like 10fold its insane lol. i eat relatively healthy. i try for a veggie a day and a fruit a week (i know not enough fruit or veggies but better than i used to pull in). my calories normally come in around 1500 on an exercise-free or small exercise day. when i hit the gym hard core i can come in anywhere from 1700-2000 cals. and then there are nights like last night when i hit 2000 without a huge day at the gym...oops :). my ultimate goal is to get under 200lbs and stay there! because i am a big boned gal i get that "you carry your weight well" statement a lot. no one ever believes that i am the weight i say, they usually peg me for like 20lbs less. so im hopinh if i can get to about 185-190 lbs i might look 165-170lbs haha. im cheatin' the system :). i do not, in any way, want to be skinny. i want an athletic looking, curvy, and healthy body. my closest goal is to come in under 200lbs by my 22nd birthday, in August of this year. from there id like to be my perfect weight by october...so i can finally be some sexxxy creature for halloween! :) good to meet everyone! talk to you soon
Wow. I hit 1600 calories even today with an A- score. That makes me feel a lot better about things.
Hi everybody. I'm fairly new at this, but could use some motivation!!! I am 5"10 and weigh 243 lbs. My goal weight is 195 at least for now. I have lost 7 pounds this past week, but would be really happy to continue losing about three a week. I'm eating anywhere between 1200 and 1500 calories a day, and even went and bought all the low calorie low fat stuff, so hope it works! By my 20th birthday in July I would love to be able to wear a really cute bathing suit and so not be embarrassed! So good to meet everybody! talk to you all soon.
I have never thought myself an amazon woman, but what the heck. I can be anything I want. I'm 5'7" and last weigh in was 230. I have a long ways to go with this but I'm taking it one pound at a time. I hope to one day be able to look forward to clothes shopping instead of buying something just to cover me up. I would love to have a summer where the heat doesn't just about kill me and I can wear shorts and feel good about myself. So hello all and good luck. Cuz we are all worth it and can do this!
Bluenuns98, we can so do this!! :o)
I'm really happy to see everyone here, Marimbagirl, it's a wonderful (and difficult) thing to go through the entire day with an A, congratulations!
Yesterday I hit 1,600 calories too, I'm not sure how I feel about that. However, I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and a mile on the treadmill as well as some weight training. It felt SO good to sweat and my new bra (the Moving Comfort "Fiona"bra) made it so much more comfortable.
If any of you Amazons are well-endowed and looking for a bra to exercise in I HIGHLY recommend the "Fiona", my goodness it is comfortable!
Meghan, congratulations on your 42lb weight loss, that is a fantastic success! I love that you have a healthy image for your goal weight, I too am not looking to be skinny, but athletic and curvy. Yay for us! :o)
Crazylove, if I can offer some advice for the rest of your journey it would be to expect a 1-2 lb loss each week. It gets harder to lose as you get closer to a healthy weight and it is easy to become discouraged when your goals are set too high for what your body can handle healthfully.
Happy Monday everyone!

I want to look and feel better. My goal is to be at 170lbs by October this is my 5 year wedding anniversary and my 10 year high school class reunion.
I'm looking at 1300 calories/day and i spend 1 hour a day 6 days week on my treadclimber.
Happy to be here.

Hello all....Im an Amazon. LOL...first step to recovery I guess. Im 5 ft 8. and Im weighing in at about 225 lbs. ( in my head I can hear the announcer shouting out " and in this corner, weighing in at a solid yet surprising 225 pounds, we have tinav the Amazon Woman " RING RING RING ). I began CC at the end of October at 251.5 lbs. All went very well until the holidays and since then Ive been fighting to get back on track. I had gained a few pounds but have managed to shed again. My goal is to get to 200 by my 45th birthday on March 11th. Will be my lightest weight in more than 25 years. To be honest, Im not expecting to reach that goal but I set it early on in the program. Rather than change it I am going to continue to work towards it and will be happy even if I am just a few pounds closer. Good luck to all my fellow Amazons. Have faith in yourself and never give up your dream, we are worth it.
Hi everybody,
I wanted to say thanks to Avesha, I know that it's going to be rough, but I think I can do it! Oh and to brandylansing, I think your goal is ambitious but it sounds like you are on the right track.! Hope everyone has a great Monday.
Talk to you soon
~crazy~

Wow, more fellow tall people...err...Amazon people. I am 5'12'' and, being down 7 lbs, am 222. I am hoping to be close to 200 by the middle of March, 190 by about May/June and then my goal weight of 150 by June 2008 (20 year reunion time).
I havent been getting the 'you carry it well' lately because I think I am past the point of carrying it well...190 I carry it well, 220's, nope.
I eat closer to around 1700-2000 calories a day with an expenditure of about 2500-3000 a day. I workout usually 5 days a week doing an hour of cardio and then weights 3 of those days also. I dont often workout on the weekends just to let me muscles recover (and I just dont feel like it). I am really motived to lose weight and get healthy...been trying off and on for a couple years and have dropped and kept off 25 but another 15-20 I have been yo-yoing with for the last year. I 'got serious' with WW back around October but didnt really do well to stick with the plan, some aspects of it had me bingeing and I knew I had to count calories, that would be what worked for me, I googled calorie counters or something like that and found this site...more than I was even hoping for.
Look forward to making some new friends with the same goals as me.

Nothing wildly profound to report, I just want to share how thrilled I am at the way this thread is spinning out. Lovely, powerful women coming together to support eachother through one of the hardest journeys in life. It's just what I wanted, I am so happy!
Keep it up ladies, like tinav says, we are worth it!
Woot! Woot!

ps- crazy, you are most welcome. :o)

I just had a strange conversation with my partner, Christopher, about this thread. He asked what it was called and I froze... I didn't want him to know how much I weigh... anyone else having a hard time owning up to their weight outside of this thread???
I did and still do to some extent, but it's getting better. The thing that kind of got me comfortable in my own skin was doing something that was outside of the norm. When I became a historical reinactor, I discovered people that were just like me. I saw them with this very strong confidence in themselves, doing something that they loved, and I realized that my weight wasn't really something that I should be ashamed of anymore.
Weight is something that you can change, something that you can take control over and I think that all of us are in the same boat together, wanting to better ourselves to the best that we can be.

sweet thread. I am 5'10" and weighed in today at 210.2 having lost 51.8 lbs. and I want to lose another 30 and see where I am from there =)
Thank goodness a thread I fit into! I am 5'11 & 3/4 so basically 6
ft, I have a bigger frame and am 255lbs right now. I have just started
CC and really would like to see my weight come down. I am keeping my
calories at 1950 (ish)/day. My problem is usually not eating too much
but not eating enough. I can eat healthy until about this time at night
and then usually fall apart. So I am really working on tracking all my
calories and spreading them out throughout the day. I would like to
lose 55 lbs and be at 200. I think that is reasonable for my height,
bone structure ect. The other thing in my eqation is that we are trying
to get pregnate. Well not really trying, but lets just say not taking
any form of BC. So I do hope to get some of it off before that happens!
I am so looking forward to this thread and getting to know everyone on
it!
Hello all !
For sure a thread I fit into. I am 5'8.75" and current weight is 271
Working on 200 first then to 175-160.
I am very simply in love with food. Everything about it from cooking it to buying it to eating it.
Working on making some healthier changes. Already have lost at least 15 lbs and am looking forward to the others coming off!
I have had 3 children. 2 in the last 2 years. This certainly packed it on for me. Well that and not keeping my mouth shut.
I just finished reading YOU on a diet the other day. It is an interesting book however it is not the be all and end all.
Looking forward to reading everyones posts.
