Good morning =] Hope all is well today. =D

Was just wondering if anyone has any tips for making your skin flawless and beautiful with that kind of 'glow'?

It can be anything at all.

*Good foods to eat

*Foods to avoid

*'Magic' drinks

*creams and ointments

Or anything else people can think of =]

Would be nice to see how some people look after their skin ..<3

I drink a lot of water (at least 4 liters a day), eat foods high in omega 3 fatty acids (or take supplements containing it).  Exercising regularly helps.  Wash face 2x daily - I never sleep in my make-up even though I wear the Bare Essentials mineral make up.  Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! I find that I have to change my moisturizer depending on the seasons - right now I'm using Burts Bees Radiance Cream which is working great.  I also exfoliate 2x a week and use Origins Modern Friction once a week.   And let's not forget wearing some SPF protection - which is in my make up but I also don't spend a lot of time in the sun....

If I moisturise it makes my skin spotty! my friend has flawless skin and all she eats is a lot of sweets...although I probably think its more down to genes there :oP
A good exfoliant and a good moisturiser for the outside, plenty of water for the inside.

My skin will never be flawless (scarring, yuck) but scrubbing my face with St. Ive's apricot scrub every other day keeps blemishes away and using Aveeno lotions keep my face from looking dried out without making them oily.  Having a touch of shimmer powder here and there doesn't hurt, either. ;]

Running always helps me--I guess it's the sweating and exfoliating effect of sweat.

Also, when I make a habit of sitting in the sauna regularly, I've been told that I "glow." I think it's just the sweating, though, just like with running.

I take a heavy duty multi-vitamin daily and biotin, which helps with skin, hair, and nails.

Lot's of water. Very little make-up (no foundation).

SPF 30 moisturizer everyday.

Mainly a vegetarian diet (occasional fish).

Benefit Dandelion.
i use St. Ives Apricot Scrub, and a moisturizer :)

If you have hormonal acne no skin care products, food or amount of water will help.  Most people have to take birth control to cure this kind of acne.

I drink 2 liters of water per day, eat extremely healthy (vegetarian), loads of kale, broccoli, bell peppers, tomatoes, beans and lentils.  Couple times a week I will eat quinoa, brown rice, and tofu.  I keep the fruit to a minimum (grapes, bananas, pink lady apples, blueberries)  No soda, juice and only 1 cup of coffee in the morning.  I indulge in dark chocolate couple times per week.  I don't eat anything white (flour, rice or pasta)  No milk, ice cream, yogurt and very occasionally I'll eat cheese.

I do use specific skin care products, which I have had to experiment to find the ones that my skin likes.  I use Paula's Choice wash am/pm. I love her 2% beta hydroxy acid lotion (at night).  Clinique DDMG followed by Shishido 35spf sunscreen lotion for day, and at night I use Benefit When Hope Is Not Enough moisturizer.  I also use Differin gel that I got from my doctor every other night.

I use Neutrogena pressed powder but only when I go out.  No foundation or blush, just mascara & lip gloss!

I care about my skin and do what it takes to make it happy!  It took me a while to find the products that work for me.

Couple other tips:

I sleep on satin pillowcases (not expensive, I found them at Target!)  Not only does it help keep from getting wrinkles (cotton will do this) but it also keeps my curly hair less tangled.  I also change them every couple of days.

After washing I pat my face dry with a clean towel daily, don't rub.

Well, sounds like a lot but all of this together has really helped clear up my skin! Laughing

Be sure to include enough fats in your diet (at least 20-30% of your calories should come from fat). It helps keep your skin hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps, too.

I use aveeno face wash in the shower. Usually I just wash my face with water before bed, but sometimes I'll forget. Also, washing your face too much could actually make acne or pimples worse -- your skin produces more oil if you overdry it, and thus clogs your pores more.

Invest in a tough luffa or sponge to lightly scrub away dead skin in the shower. Also, moisturize after showers with lotion -- just about any kind will do. Shea butter leave my skin feeling really soft. :)
I drink a lot of water and honestly that never made that big of a difference with my face. But I have finally found a routine that works for the most part. I still get the occassional pimple but not like before. I wash my wash twice a day 2 good facial cleaners. My morning one is AcneFree facial wash. It has benezoyl (not sure if I spelled that right) peroxide. And at night Clean & Clear foaming facial cleaner (sensitive skin). Follow that with a good Toner. Next I use Olay regenerist skin serum. And last plain Oil of Olay face moisturizer. Doing that cleared my face up and I have only had 1 pimple since I started this.
Skin care is super important to me... Here are some of my tips.

Drink A LOT of water and eat a balanced diet.

Avoid super greasy foods as much as possible.

Exfoliate 1-2 times a week but no more because over exfoliating can cause your skin to be more oily in the long run. A couple people mentioned St Ives apricot scrub. That's what I use too.

Wash your face morning and night with a sensitive cleanser. I like clean and clear.

Use a daily moisturizer with sunscreen and vitamin e. I use futur-e by loreal and it is awesome.

Don't wear foundation. Ever since I stopped wearing foundation and only applying a light powder in the morning my skin is the best it's ever been.
See a dermatologist. Be careful on spending money on "cure" products, especially ones that use photos as proof (they only work for very light acne). I've wasted money on so many products!! I've been on antibiotics and differin gel - they worked very well for me. Microdermabrasion helps remove the outer skin layer (which means less clogged pores, I guess) and minimizes acne scarring - also recommended by my dermalogoist.

What about your skin do you think is flawed? it looks  flawless to me from your pictures?
Also, I was curious after reading a few previous posts in this thread about the use of a silk or satin pillow. I cannot find anything scientific to back this idea, or study about the usage of pillowcases. Where does this come from?

Ooo sorry i think iv'e confussed people. I wasn't asking because I think my skin is flawed. Beauty and vanity products and tps is just something im very interested in =]

&& all of the tips you have given sound fantastic! Thanks I will try some of them ..<3

I just spent way too much money on Bare Minerals makeup by Sephora.  It is pretty incredible stuff, definitely makes your skin look amazing.

Oh, and I use the proactiv skin care line ... it works ok, but to be honest, not nearly as well as I feel like it should for what I pay for it.  Microdermabrasion has probably made the biggest difference for me, I've only gotten it twice but it really evens out the texture of your skin.

I've also thought about trying accutane, although I'm not nearly as acne-prone as I used to be so it probably wouldn't be worth it.  Everybody I know who used it has such gorgeous skin now!  But apparently it isn't very fun for a while, your face gets all red and peels off in big flakes ... maybe I'll wait until I'm between jobs!
St. Ives Apricot Scrub is amazing, i use it everday <3

mmhm i use Snap! Tea Tree Oil Scrub. Similar to the St Ives. I had had a tube of Avon Anew facial scrub and it was excellent.

drinking enough water is a habit now, though Dr. Oz's show "Truth About Food" says it has little effect on the skin as we get most of our moisture from food. ah well, same difference. Mineral makeups work well for me even thought my flesh is sensitive. most moisturizers make me blotch out, so i use baby lotion usually. Ran out of Garnier moisturizer.

I keep thinking on sewing up some silky pillowcases (have a whack of chocolate bridal silk) but am lazy~

Never sleep with makeup on!? i guess thats my tip :)

I use the Tea Tree Range from The Body Shop, I think it's absolutely fantastic for oily skin! My skin gets out of control though at times and my doctor changed my contraceptive pill to one that is also a cure for acne :(
I use Fresh Farmacy cleanser and Imperialis moisturizer from Lush and they work wonders for me. And I don't think chocolate/sweets have much impact on my skin.

I've used everything under the sun. My problem is when I do get a pimple which isn't that often anymore, Thank God. It's the cystic kind that grows really big and leaves a dark scar, which is another problem. I've taken all kinds of medications, and I see a dermatologist regularly and and the cosmetic center in the office for Gylcolic Acid Peels. I haven't tried Dermabrasion yet, but maybe I will.

Currently I used MD Forte Glycolic facial cleanser and solution both 20%. I also use Glytone 20% solution and Tazorac or Retin A at night, combine that with hydroquinone 4% for the scaring. I am not hip to a better moisturizer as I started to see a wrinkle on my forehead so I started using Aveeno moisturizer, with a MAC primer both with SPF.

I don't focus too much on diet, but I have been drinking more water lately but with those Crystal Light packets. I'm constanly looking for ways to better my skin. I too want flawless skin!
