So you know the beep test in gym where you run back and forth 20 m when the beep goes? and you do as many as you can? right. I did that for the first time yesterday (I'm a senior in high school and have to take this gym class...but I like exercising so it's all good lol) and I did 59 total shuttles, which is 2 shuttles away from level 7. I was the last female standing! I was proud of myself, but I don't know if this is good? average? anybody know? I know a year ago, I never would have gotten that far and I've had a rough month and a half with binge eating disorder and haven't been running. Thanks for any input!

That's great!  I don't know if thats good/average and whatnot, but I think its saying something that you were the last female standing!

The last time I did shuttles was almost 5 years ago now...I sprained my ankle on 33 Surprised

Oh i remember the dreaded beep test back in my high school days ...i HATED it. and im pretty sure i used to drop out around level 5 ish ...soo overweight and out of shape.

Congrats, keep up what you are doing!

As for binge eating... make sure you are eating enough calories and make a plan for when you feel a binge coming along.

Well I know I was the last female standing, but all the others are not particularly in shape either! Haha, but yeah, I hope to improve.

Trust me, I've tried and tried again to avoid/prevent/resist binges. And I've failed and failed again. It's turned into a bulimia thing, so I don't really know what to do at this point. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I find the best thing to do when I feel a binge coming, I just go through with it, have my binge, just change the food I'm eating, like if I'm dieing for cottage cheese, I opt for 1% fat istead of the normal stuff. I count all my calories for the binge, then when I'm done I wait an hour then work out until I burn however many calories that I shouldn't have eaten. Like if I had a 1000 calorie binge and I had only allotted 500 calories for the meal, I'd work off the extra 500, thus bringing me back into good standing.

I'm a guy and did 66 and there was one other guy that did 3-5 more than me but I was one of the last ones.

So 59 is great. wow, now I feel like a failure...a girl almost beat me lol. Next time I'll get 70-75.

According to my pe booklet thing I think 50+ is healthy for girls and 65+ is healthy for guys so GOOD JOB. I think what they mean my healthy is like A+, great, suberb(hahaha), etc.

So you are above average. great job.

OH yeah, and since you were the last one standing, you can already tell you did a great job. How many other people were doing the pacers with you? For me there were about 50 other guys.

Oh dang, I guess I did okay then. But in my PE class, every shuttle counted as 1% of our grade, so I got a 59% which is....not great :\  My class is about 35 students, but only half of us did pacers (beep test sounds cooler! :P) at one time so the other half could count our shuttles. There aren't many other girls... maybe 15. The last remaining guy in one half did 94 shuttles. The last remaining in the other half did 110!!!! He is crazy good!

We're doing it again at the end of the quarter (end of October, I think) and the end of the semester in December, so I plan to improve immensely!! I'm also eager to see what my mile time is. I haven't done the mile since last year and since then, I've lost 25 lbs and began running. I've never run it in less than 9 minutes, so that's my goal. About 8:30 maybe... we'll see :)

Oh wow I hate that test!

I made it halfway through level 7 the first time I did it, the second time I think I nearly made level 9, but I was nothing compared to some of my teammates.
