How can I begin consuming more calories without gaining all my disgusting weight back? And am I really hurting my metabolism.
I am sixteen years of age and have been consuming about 600 to 700 calories everyday for about two months. Not only did I slice my calories in half I made sure to excercise a good amount of the food I consumed off. I only eat things of nutritional value like wheat breads, 100 calorie yogurts, granola bars, lots of vegetables, fruits and water.
Recently I found out that eating so little is extremely bad especially since i've been doing it for a decently long amount of time. I've lost 20 pounds during this time. I don't have any health problems from eating so little only small dizzy spells that don't last long. I actually believe the dizzyness comes from my ears because they were filled with fluid not to long ago. Even during my time of eating 600 calories I never felt starved, my stomach never growled or demanded that I eat somthing. Before I lost all my weight I ate a crap load of food, not because I was hungry but because I was bored. If I had to guess the amount of calories I consumed back then i'd say about 2,000.
SooOOoo can anyone tell me if i'm really hurting my metabolism and how to begin adding more calories to my diet without gaining my weight back?
P.S, sorry if this is hard to read i'm in a bit of a rush.
Reason: Locked. Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.
you're young and likely need a MINIMUM of 2000 calories to maintain. right now you're starving yourself. regardless of what you say, the dizzy spells are a problem and just because you're not hungry doesn't mean you were well nourished.
RAise your calories immediately. That's the best bet to restore your metabolism. you might see a weight gain, okay you WILL see a weight gain but it won't be much and it will stop as soon as your body is comfortable and assured that food won't be scarce.
Just to remind you of CC guidelines...

Yes you are starving yourself and yes you are hurting your metabolism. Do not "begin" to add more calories back, just DO IT. The longer you wait, the more damage you will do.
