Do you behave differently online?

I'm more outspoken online. I guess it's because I know that I'll never encounter anyone here (or other websites) in my "real life", lol.

How about you?

I talk about politics more online.  IRL I am a polite person who recognizes that discussing religion and politics causes people to disagree, which is uncomfortable for everybody.

nah - i'm pretty outspoken everywhere.  unless it's a situation with people i've never met and will likely never see again, i say what i think (if i'll never see them again, i don't bother).

No, I'm pretty much the same.

I'm the same. I am really honest and put my foot in my mouth because of it sometimes in social (real life) situations.......I've been trying lately to be a little more reserved and think before I speak.........maybe I should online as well.......If I continue to be that way online I'l never stop in real life!

Sometimes I get a little more talkative when I'm crabby online, which usually gets me into trouble.

yea, I have to bite my tongue a lot more on these forums.

Nah....I'm a gobby mare in real life too.....the twisted crap people spit out on here irritates me as much in life Laughing

Gobby mare?  Oh that made me giggle.  I had to look it up.  My take on it is:

Gobby mare - a loudmouth who tends to be brutally honest even when they shouldn't

Is that about right?  "Mare" refers to sex?  Not nightmare or anything?  So, would the male be called a gobby stallion?

Laughing yeah jewels spot on, that's me, a bucket is a bucket and I'm not calling it anything else Wink

No it's only women that are related to the horse, although I like gobby stallion I might start using that Smile

Men are usually just called gobby sods......

sod (obnoxious, or contemptible person)

Ha, me too. Also there are people on forums I visit that I would never associate with in real life, so I tend to get into more e-arguments than I would get into in real life.

I'm sure you're all thinking the same of me, right

I am the same person; I just express myself differently.  In real life, I'm more quiet, and would never talk about weightloss or the best kind of cereal with random strangers.

I also would probably never write my journal like I do if somebody I know would read it.  I guess I need the anonymity to really say whats on my mind because I'm always afraid people will judge me and see me differently.

I am fairly brash and obnoxious in real life once you get to know me, although exceedingly polite in a general sense. I also don't have a google interface in my brain, so I know far less in person. I am a bit of a keyboard warrior though, although only slightly, I am a know-it-all and opinionated in reality as well. I swear less online too.

I'm not as brash in real life as I am on this forum, that's for sure. I only have certain friends to talk politics/religion with and none of them live in Korea so this ends up being my "release" for those sorts of topics. And like spiro said... there's some people here that just make me want to argue more so sometimes I just do it because I can.

nope. i'm ridiculously straightforward all the time.

I'm a bit more willing to speak what's on my mind.

I am very opinionated on and off line

Depends what mood i am in... but most the time i am totally different than what i am normally when playing MMO's.

Online forums i am about the same though :D
I'm just as nice and sweet here as I am in real life.

ha me too, I've clicked 'back' on so many posts I've written.

I'm pretty much the same in person, though it is easier to say certain things when you're only facing a computer screen.

I behave the same online and offline.
