yeah it gets infected easily..the BB is probably one of the most dirty places on the body haha......clean it...a lot...and try not to snag it on pants, belts, shirts, etc...but thatll probably be pretty hard..but yeah thatll probably hurt when its still trying to heal...keep an eye on it..and if you see its trying to pull out (body rejecting it) just go ahead and take it out

i myself havent hd one, but i had an eyebrow ring..it feels like a shot...quick and easy.
I've had mine for about a year now and it's never gotten infected.
I cleaned it regularly for the first three months and then off and on in showers and so. It's been just dandy to me. :)
I takes the longest of any piercing to heal; about 12 months.

Take care of it and be careful when towel drying-ouch! :)
In a different lifetime I had piercings in my belly button, nipple and tongue.  The BB definitely hurt the worst of all of them.  It's a pain to clean and you're always picking off little fuzzies from your clothing that stick to it.  Not fun.

Keep a very, very close eye on it.  It's normal to seep a little clear fluid at first, but if the fluid turns to pus or blood or if the skin around the piercing turns red or feels hot, you should see a doctor.  Antibiotics help.

After about two years I came to terms with the fact that my body was rejecting all of my piercings ... basically they just never healed.  I took them out and have a pretty gruesome belly button scar now.

Good luck - hope it works better for you than it did for me.
