You'll have to find some foods that are healthy and satisfying. There are many out there, and you'll have to experiment. This process is not usually easy, but it's very rewarding. You'll feel better about yourself and enjoy your food even more because not only is it delicious, but you feel great knowing it's healthy.
Some personal favourites of mine are:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with Fruits
Lunch: Smoothie and sandwich
Dinner: Soup, salad, and stew
Good luck!!
Breaking bad eating habits is never easy. However, nature has provided us with some amazing foods with which we need to get reacquainted. The other day for instance, I ate a sandwich and 12 baby carrots for lunch and was full ALL afternoon. The sandwich was made from just one regular store-brand slice of wheat bread (not even the "healthy" kind) and three "hearty" slices of Hillshire Farms ham. The calorie total was around 300, I think. I sat down and ate it slowly with a glass of water. Satisfied for hours....yum yum.. My favorite protein source, fall-back option, is a hard boiled egg. I pair it with fruit, toast, or yogurt for either breakfast or lunch several times per week. Changing the way you eat requires a bit of planning. If you don't have a variety of healthy options available to you, you'll resort to whatever junk's in the pantry!
This is not my personal wisdom but personal experience and everything I've ever read about changing one's relationship with food. I believe food should be enjoyed, and we can enjoy NEW better foods just as much as the OLD junk.
I don't think it's wrong to crave a piece of bread with your salad. Just watch the portion size and what you smear on it! (That includes the amount of dressing too --fat, sugar, calories!)
You didn't say what your goal is, other than losing belly fat. Well, you can't pick where the weight "falls off" so exercise is key. I, too, am trying to slim down for my wedding in early August. My waist needs the most work based on Friday's dress fitting...sigh. Since the goal is not impossible, I am happy to have that dress fitting goal to keep me motivated!
Anyway, based on my reading elsewhere and in threads here, walking and sprinting are very reputable waist whittlers. I've been walking faithfully for about 3 weeks, cut calories to about 1300-1400 and have lost only 2.5 pounds. About half the time, I have walked morning and night.
It's hot as the hinges of hell here this weekend (Virginia) so I put on ankle weights and jogged around the house, up and down stairs, around the dogs (who think I'm crazy), etc. I've been doing leg lifts here at the computer desk too.
In case you want to discuss this further, I'll check back here later! GOOD LUCK!! To both of us! ALL of us at CC
HI, your exercise routine sounds good but you may want to throw in an additional 15 minutes of calisthenics like sit ups, push ups, and squats. This will build some serious muscle and get you tightened up. It took about 2 months for me to see my butt and gut tighten up, which brings me to my next point: time. take plenty of it to get yourself to your goal. If you change your eating to quickly you will feel deprived. Good luck!
Can particular foods increase testosterone levels?
One small study showed licorice may reduce levels of testosterone in men. Alcohol is also known to lower libido but, otherwise, testosterone... Read more
