Anyone have some suggestions on how to lose the "squish" around your belly button and on your hips? I have friends that jog with celophane wrapped around their hips/stomach to sweat it off. Wondering if this is healthy or affective? I've tried cutting sugar, too.
I've been able to shape up my arms and legs etc., but I am having such a hard time with the side and back of my hips and the stomach area.
Thanks!
Allie

I'm no expert, but try hooping. Hula-hooping that is! It's great fun and a workout that strenghtens your core. My stomach is leaner since I started...my hips are huge so no way to track progress there- yet.
hoopgirl.com has some nice weighted hoops for sale, maybe you could even find one at toys-r-us or something.

You cannot sweat-off fat. You need cardio to get rid of it. And, unfortunately, we cannot choose where the fat will come off.
As for stomach area, there's a saying: Abs are made in the kitchen. Meaning, you need to eat a "clean" healthy diet (and perhaps cut calories).
Doing BOTH cardio and weight/strength training will yield the best results by reducing the visible layer of fat and developing lean muscle beneath.

I've heard that saturated and trans fats go straight to that area. I don't know how true it is, but either way it's good to stay away from those. Try and get healthier fats into your diet.
