belly losing :(

Quote  |  Reply
can someone please give me some advice!
most of my body is quite slim overall, but i can't seem to cut down my belly which is like 28 inches even though im just abt 150cm tall!
is there any way i can lose this belly quickly?

for a month-
i've been eating a 200 calorie lunch and dinner which is usually just a plate of rice with something, is that too much?
i do exercise but on an odd schedule as i'm studying and working- so some weeks i do alot and others none!

help!

dont starve yourself..i think just doing more crunches and excersising your abs should do the trick
crunches actually burn very few calories unless you do A LOT of them, but doing them wouldn't hurt. If it seems like a layer of fat, not just untoned muscle, then aerobics are nessessary. Maybe you could try Pilates, which bases all its movements on core strength.
1 - what's your total calorie intake?

2 - how much do you weigh?

3 - crunches will tone, but if you have fat over your muscle you need cardio to burn the cals - unless you're eating too little, in which case, please read this article.
If you are going to eat that few of calories, I would definitely get rid of the rice.  Starchy carbs tend to go right to your waistline.  I would eat high protein, low carb for a while.  When you do eat carbs, eat the natural ones or high-fiber ones.

Good luck!

i still don't really know what pilates are! could someone explain please >_< doesn't crunches work your leg more than the stomache?

calorie intake... about 1000 or so per day on average.

thanks for the article! i do aikido (martial arts) 3hrs a week does that count? but haven't been recently because i got exams!

i will take that into mind! i did try but because my family's totally rice-eating everyday (tradition i guess since we'r chinese) its a little hard! what other carb foods are high in carbs?

I asked my trainer the same question, his response, you can target your stomach with crunches and bicycles and all that. Watch what you eat. Also, it depends on your body. That's my trouble spot, and your body will lose the weight where it wants to first. Once you start lowering your % of body fat, the weight will start to fall off in those areas.
