Has anyone else taken advantage of the benefits that dark chocolate offers? I was shocked to discover months back that dark chocolate has numerous health benefits including lowering blood pressure and cholestorol. Not to mention the fact that if you are able to eat it in moderation, the calorie count is low and it can help with weight loss because it controls sweet cravings.
You have to find the right type of dark chocolate that is high in the percentage of cacao. Most bars say it on the front. Supposedly, there is one out there with 85%, but I can't find it. The best one I have found has 72% from Ghiradelli called "Intense Dark". I eat 2 squares of it a day. It is a great way to deal with sweet cravings, the calories are low, and it has health benefits.
I think more people are starting to catch on now because everytime I go to the store, there is barely any left.
There is a Hershey's Reserve 85% Extra Dark Chocolate-should be available at Wal-Mart. I'm not fond of it myself, but I have the palate of an eight year old and like my chocolate with caramel, nuts, nougat and whatever else you can cram into it. lol
It's high in iron as well!
High in antioxidants
I love the fact that I can say that my couple of squares of dark chocolate a few times a week are medicinal. heh.
I know know that Lindt has some 85% chocolate bars, they even have %90 and %99.
