Best advanced dance workout dvds?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm looking for a great calorie burning dance workout dvd. I have a background in theater, so its always tough for me to find something that doesn't make me bored... particularly when they keep giving the basic instruction 5x slower than I need it!

Does anyone know of any workout videos that nearly go straight into the workout without all of the instruction? I'm a big fan of Zumba, but totally open to suggestions! What about Turbo Jam?

If you can find MTV's The Grind, those are great for advanced dancers.  I had a hard time coordinating the moves but if you catch on quickly, you can get a good work out.  This is from the mid-90's.  They're probably only on VHS.

Oh thanks!! haha. I don't have a vcr anymore, but I will look them up!

I have the same issue.  I've been dancing since I was little and most of the workouts I can find just frustrate me.  I went to a step class the other day, and the instructor kept starting us off on 3 or 5 instead of 1 (in the 8 count) - I was going crazy!

I have Turbo Jam, and while it's a great workout, it's frustrating.  She'll say, "Repeat on the left side" then not repeat it exactly.  Ugh.

In general, once I've done the video a few times, I'm sick of the moves anyway.  I prefer taking actual classes, but those are hard to find and expensive.

If you find anything that works, let me know!  :)

Haha. I've had the exact same problem! I went to a zumba class and the instructor was making the six count in eight! It was totally annoying and frustrating!

Okay, if I find a dvd that doesn't make me bored, I will let you know!

The zumba DVD's are okay--though i do not have the most recent ones.  Does anyone have the most recent ones?  Do you like them? Are they worth the price?
