Best (and Cheapest) Vegan Friendly Shampoo and Conditioner?

Quote  |  Reply

So... I just found out that Tresemme has Keratin in it... which comes from aniamls. They don't test on animals... but they don't mind putting animal parts in their hair products. I looked around at the store but everything is either tested on animals or had animal products in it! I can't afford the $10 shampoo and conditioners in the natural section of the grocery store. What do you guys use? Any advice? How about home remedies for conditioning my hair so I only have to buy shampoo... anything?

Trader Joe's has cruelty free shampoo and conditioner for a few dollars.

Good thinking! I will go there this weekend :) Thank you!

What is Keratin? I'm so sad now, even my shampoo can't be trusted. I use St. Ive's body wash and Head and Shoulders shampoo. Any ideas about those?

Here is a list of all the animal ingrediants that can be found in foods, shampoo, etc. http://www.caringconsumer.com/resources_ingre dients_list.asp

Head and Shoulders tests on animals and I don't know if St. Ives has animals products in it or not. I use St. Ives too because they don't test on animals... but I haven't checked the bottle to see if it has animal products yet :(

I like aveda products which are quite expensive though.

I have recently been conditioning my hair with diluted vinegar which i love and is very inexpensive.  If you google vinegar hair rinse you can read the benefits of it.
