We all have them... so lets share! Heres some of mine...
I can make a turkey sandwhich with less than 200 cals by using 40cal slice bread, 50cal turkey slices(6 slices) and spinach and mustard.
I make huge eggwhite omletes with alittle mozzarella cheese bell pepper, and hot sauce. It adds up to less than 100cals! And its soo filling.
I'll split a snack into two, for example eat half a granola bar mid morning and one mid afternoon. Or 10 almonds early, and 10 later. Its feels like your having two, but your only having 1!
For desert, ill put frozen berries of any kind into a bowl, sprinkly with splenda and a little splash of milk. Then i stir it and it becomes nice and slushy. I even add cool whip sometimes.
Well what are your secrets?

i am new at this, so i dont have any secrets to share yet but yours sound great. i am confused about the turkey though. is it 50 cals per slice? or 50 cals total 6 slices? bc if its 50 cals per slice and its 6 slices isnt that 300 cals in itself?
its 50 cals for the 6 slices. thats what my turkey says :]
i have turkey thats 45 cals for 6 slices but uhm 40 cal bread..where did u find that?!
oh ok thanks. and yeah id like to find some 40 cal bread too!!

also adding some healthy fats when cooking in a non stick pan
btw......do you use a little oil in your scramble eggs? - i dont like the white scramble eggs----i use 1 yolk and two whites- the yolk does wonders for healthy hair and skin :)

i love avacado as a substitute for mayo--a tablespoon mashed only has around 25 calories, is tasty (esp with just a little bit of chili powder or paired with a dash of mustard) and has healthy fats :)
i also love my brita pitcher. i don't know if it's psychological or not, but cold filtered water just tastes really good, and i know how much the pitcher holds, so i know how much water i'm drinking--along the same lines, i buy a glass bottle of juice or something occasionally for my bottled water, so i don't have to keep buying bottled water. glass doesn't have dissolving plastics.
great post!
orroweat has a light whole wheat bread thats 80 calories for 2 slices. Its good too. Thats what i use.
wackywoman- that's a good idea on using glass bottles for water! thanks for the tip. :)
blaynedrops- yes i agree with you!

I hear everyonr talking about low cal bread I found earthgrains 35 and its only 35 cals per slice makes a yummy grilled cheese( low fat cheese of course) use butter spray for 0 cal grilling!!!
I found the Earthgrains 35 a bit gummy. But I really like the Healthy Life whole wheat, and I think it's 80 for 2 slices. They have one with flax seed as well.
Village Hearth his 40 calories per slice (kind of airy). Sara Lee DeeLightfull 100% Multigrain is 45 calories per slice, but much more tasty/filling than the Village Hearth.
I like like grilled mozzarella cheese sandwiches instead of with american cheese (I can't stand amer cheese). Add a little garlic powder and Tastefully simple Spinach and Herb seasoning...yummy!
Good ideas...keep them coming. I'm always racking my brain to come up with fillling low cal snacks and meals.

Something that helped me lose weight was what I call the B.A.S.: the Big-Ass Salad. On nights when I didn't have many calories to spare but I wanted something filling, I just put a ton of vegetables into a BIG salad bowl--like the kind that's supposed to hold a whole salad, not just a serving--add a little lean protein, and some homemade dressing. I felt like I was eating a huge meal, but it was always only between 150-200 calories, if that. A sample salad might include:
-A few cups of lettuce
-Chopped tomato
-Chopped carrots
-Sliced mushrooms
-Sliced cucumber
-A sliced olive (gives a nice flavor)
-Sliced onions
-2 tbsp fat free cottage cheese
-1/2 a walnut, chopped
-maybe 1/4 cup chopped chicken if I had the calories to spare.
I made a really good dressing out of fat free plain yogurt, a tiny bit of fat free mayo, and a little hidden valley ranch mix mixed in. It tasted just like ranch dressing, and I only really needed 2 tbsp, especially with the cottage cheese mixed in. You can easily vary this salad according to your own tastes.

If I want ice cream, I'll eat an apple, then after have a single bite
of ice cream. So the ice cream taste is the last taste in my mouth.
Smoothies... 1/3 cup powdered milk, 1 cup water, 1 cup frozen fruit chunks or berries, sprinkle of splenda, and a squirt of vanilla.... 150 calories.
I figured out exactly how much kernels of popcorn equaled 100 calories, made a scoop with a clean medicine container, marked the a line for the right level.
I do best if I start my day with a bowl of fiberful serotonin-enhancing carbs... aka oatmeal. But I like it about 80% oatmeal, 20% other grains, especially things that add texture, like steel-cut oats, bulgur, flax seed and so on. So I mix up a huge can at one time, adding in the salt, cinnamon and a teaspoon of brown sugar per half-cup of dry mix. I leave a 1/2-cup measure in the can. So in the morning I put a scoop in a bowl, add a cup of water and some frozen berries, and nuke it until just threatening to bubble over (2 min and 40 sec in my microwave), then let it sit. While cooking I go take a shower. So it is all ready for me when I get back. I usually skip the milk so this is 185 calories.
Werther's coffee-flavored butterscotch candies has to be the best 19 calories ever.

Yeah, I substitute hummus or home-made guacamole for mayonsaise and save more than half the calories. Plus I think it's tastier anyway! I never made guac before I went on a diet and never knew how easy it is to make! All you do is throw one skinned, seeded avacodo in a food processor with a small wedge of onion, 1 or 1/2 clove garlic, a tablespoon of lemon or lime juice and a little bit of salt! Mix it up and it's wicked yummy!
Also I flavor my own sugar-free, low-fat yogurt because they don't have it in my grocery store. I start with a cup of low-fat plain yogurt, add Splenda to taste (3-4 tbsp), a few drops of vanilla and lemon or almond extract plus a little bit of fruit if I have any. I split it with my husband or eat half & save the rest for later so it's only about 70 cals each - and filling!
I get cold cuts that are 20-25 cals a slice, roll them up around quartered dill pickes with a tiny bit of hummus for a breadless sandwichey kind of snack.

I do the 35-40 calorie a slice bread as well.
also healthy heart bagels are good though a little higher in calories. but if you have half with some nonfat cream cheese and cucumbers...yum!
100 calorie kettle corn is awesome for that salty/sweet craving.
I do smoothies every morning. always different fruits and I take turns switching between adding nonfat yogurt and nonfat milk. I always put in ground flax and protein powder. strawberry babnana is good. so is peach. blackberries are good but have a lot of seeds. so many combo ideas and they are all so different in flavor. under 300 calories for breakfast :)

Baked potato with FF sour cream and one tbsp BBQ sauce. Yum. Has saved the day many times.
My other favorite thing to do when I'm craving sweets is to get the strawberry jello, FF of course (Only 10 calories) and top it with FF whip cream. Great treat.

My favorite thing lately has been Annie's Low Fat Raspberry Vinaigrette. You can buy the bottles in the stores, but you can buy these handy little packets to put in your purse. I found mine through the Rice Diet website. They're 35 calories for a 2 tbsp packet and you can dress a big salad with one packet.
I like Craisins and can stretch a third of a cup out over the day.

Thanks everyone! The bread i use is Natures Own, Fiber-wheat. And sorry for the confusion about the turkey, but it is 45-50 cals for 6 slices.
Dietdemons, i usually dont use oil when making scrambled eggs, but it sounds yummy!

I also am a fan of the BAS. As an added benefit you get bored way before you get full....it takes a long time to plow your way through that much shrubbery!
