Best excersice to shrink the back side

what is the best way to shrink the size of my behind, it seems that is where I carry a lot of my weight and I dont want to firm it up until I break it down a bit, I mean I would like a smalller butt. I heard that the elitical will just firm it at the size it is at, or that it will make it bigger. Any advice would be very benificial.. thanks ahead of time

Any cardio weight loss is going to decrease the size of your butt too.  Firming the muscles at the same time won't prevent your from losing overall size via weight loss.
Since I started using my eliptical, I have seen changes in size. I also do dirty dogs. (I'm not sure of the tech. name for them ????) My bottom is def. smaller (by about two inches)
kellywood has a point that cardio is key, but some people are not meant to have a tiny tush. I have a bubble butt and though I am a runner and workout like a fiend, my butt only gets perkier (not smaller). It runs in my family to have ghetto booty. I am 34-27-37, but my hips are tiny!

I will say that squats and yoga/pilates really help keep the back-end firm.
squats and lunges reshaped my entire lower half. my legs/butt often felt like i was going to not be able to walk but it was wellll worth it.

Also, to keep it lifted and bootyliscious I say nothing beats the elliptical and rollerbladding.  They are both pretty fun and you get excellent cardio out of it with minimal impact on the lower back.
I agree with marnee! Didn't you know that booty is the new boobs! Men love it! I'm worried about losing my assets (no pun intended) as I lose weight!
