I use sony brand for my ipod. they clip around your entire ear, are very light weight, and don't fall off. You can find them at most sports stores.

I used to have this problem with earphones/headsets falling off, but then I found the perfect solution (at least for me).  I bought the headset that wraps around the back of the head.  Then I put my hair in (2) pony tails and tuck the headset underneath the ponytails (obviously with the earpieces going into my ears), so that the headset is leveraged solid and won't move even with a lot of sweat and activity - no sliding or falling out at all.

I have often had earphones die on me from constant use and exposure to sweat.  I think I destroyed 3 sets of regular ipod headphones from the sweat from running!

Here is a link to some specific sports ones from Sennheiser:

EDIT:  Actually, start from the site below, select language, and then click on "sport range" for the full range of Sennheiser sport headphones! Smile

I can't wear earbuds or the kind that wraparound the head.  I just got the kind that fit around your ear and the phones sit in your ear (but not in the canal).  I've had them a week and they are great.

They're Sony and $20.

The wrap around ones are brill but I run out doors and find my ears get a little cold (I live in ireland) so Just another option, I have "skull candy" headphones, they sit over my ears (like ear muffs) I have started running recently they stay on (not popping out like the ipod headphones which drive me loopy)

Hope this is some help!

thanks for all the replies...i will definitely have to check these out!!

I really like the Sony earbud-type ones w/ the adjustable rubber flex covers - they stay put even when I'm running, PLUS you can buy new covers every once in a while when your old ones get grubby, or just remove and clean.

I had some Sony in-ears for the longest time but they would pop out during really sweaty workouts. So I did some research about a month ago to find some replacements and I am currently LOVING my new Bose in-ear headphones! They're a bit pricey (US$100) but they sound really good and are better for your hearing at louder volumes (I'm a hi-fi snob - there's good amount of bass and not too much high end so not fatiguing after long amounts of listening), have selectable rubber ear tips (I wear the largest size so they sit snug in my ears), it comes with a clothes clip and a lanyard so you can secure it to yourself, extra long cable, and amazingly reduces the amount of outside noise (no more having to deal with treadmill noise or the heavy huffing and puffing of your next door neighbor at the gym :-p). My favorite piece of workout related gear I've bought this year!

I tried every type, brand, and style of headphone out there, and the only one that pretty much stays on during running, etc, is the behind-the-neck Nike ones I found at Target.

here is another vote for behind the neck headset ones. i like ear pads over in-ear phones. i find i get better sound and less ear ache. then again, i like it loud. lol.

I had the same problem with my ipod buds.  I picked up some buds that fit a little tighter in my ears by Skullcandy.  They have them at bestbuy and CC.

old thread, but i just picked up some Motorola S9 Bluetooth phones. they are great, sweatproof, fit well, and look cool. plus my cellphone can chime in.

:)
