Best kinds of Bread?
So I'm not thrilled with my current bread choice. I have been buying Country Hearth lite Whole Wheat. I like that this bread is only 45 cal per slice, but I'm very unimpressed with the fiber content. Any suggestions for a better bread choice? I only eat 1 slice a day if that, but I don't want to cut it out completely because its one of my only sources of whole grains right now.

I like this bread, the calories are a bit more then yours, but it has 3 grams of fibre.

Ezekiel 4:9 Bread is very good. Also The Baker makes great whole grain breads
But the best thing you can do is spend some time reading labels. You want to see as much fiber as possible and no hydrogenated oils in the ingredients. There are so many breads on the shelf to choose from.

i dont suggest you buy bread jsut for it calorie content, most low calorie or lite breads are filled with Hfcs ( high fructose corn syrup) sucralose, or otehr weird chemicals, also much of the nutrion is sapped and lost, you might as well eat packing popcorn if your gona eat that ( my opinion) nothing beats a nice whole wheat and a ton of fiber, usually the real breads keep you fuller, despite having normal calories.
my trick : if the bread has more ingreidents or has molasses, dont buy it. many times they add coloring ( molasses) and chemicals to make it look whole wheat, yet stay fluffy. real bread shouldnt sag over your hand when you hold it from one edge, it should also crumble into bits when you crush it, not turn into a ball of fake dough.

I buy Arnold wheat bread, which has 40 calories and 2.5 grams of fiber per slice. It's good too!

I buy Brownberry Natural 12-grain or 100% Whole Wheat... they also make a Double-Fiber bread, but I don't find it in the store very often.
I buy "body conscious" it used to be "carb conscious" but anyway, it only has 60 cals per slice and 8 carbs per slice..good too...I dont eat much bread, a slice a night maybe....but i just freeze a loaf and enjoy it when i want it.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ezekiel 4:9 Cinnamon Raisin Bread. It's a certified organic, flourless, low glycemic, complete protein bread. 100% sprouted whole grains. No trans fats. 80 calories per hearty slice. LOVE.
I live in NY and we get Martin's bread... a potato whole wheat bread. I LOVE this bread. 4 grams of fiber, and about 80 calories a serving.

OH my YES!! There is a better bread out there!! Trader Joe's sells a selection of sprouted breads. They area all great. Sprouted wheat, rye, multigrain. 60 cal per slice and I think 3-4 fiber grams per slice. The flavors explode if you toast them or use them in a low fat grilled cheese and onion sandwitch!! Trader Joe's prices are far more affordable that most grocery stores since they mainly sell their own named items. I love that store! They also sell alot of 100 % juices, so all the flavor and benefit of the fruit with no sugar or added calories!! The cranberry really puts a pucker on your face!!
