best lowfat salad dressing???

Quote  |  Reply

I love eating my salad's in the morning but im running out of good salad dressings that are easy on the fat/carbs and still taste delicioso!  Its to expensive to try a new one every week just to get a saviory idea of what i like.

Any Ideas?!?  I enjoy regular salad w/lots of cheese and thin ham slices.

maple grove farms had awesome fat free dressings. poppyseed, caesar, honey dijon, cranberry balsamic, rasberry vinegarette...
if making it, try using  honey dijon mustard, rice wine vinegar, lemon, nutritional yeast... i dont mind it just like that but you could at some oil.
I have found Aldi's Fit and Active lowfat dressing to be the best lowfat dressings. It only comes in Ranch and Italian, but my whole family eats it and can't tell the difference between it and a full fat dressing.
walden farms!

ZERO CALORIES - ZERO CARBS

You can also get them other places on the net (amazon, netrition, etc) since shipping is high at the original site unless you buy like 8-10 items. Also some grocery stores carry them (they have a search at the site) - seem to find them in the specialty foods aisle (not with other salad dressings).

They are hit and miss. Some are great, others bleck.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Balsamic Vinaigrette. Honey Mustard is pretty good too (I use it to make veg chicken salad). I don't really use any of the others, since I love the balsamic so much there's no point.

i like the ralphs low-fat ranch dressing. be sure to have some fat in your dressing because a small amount of fat helps your body absorn the nutrients/minerals better.

but i dont have dressing cause its not great for you; even the low-fat. its mostly composed of high-fructose corn syrup which blocks your brain from getting the message that your full.

i think olive-oil would be optimal on salads.

try the wishbone salad spritzers! 10 cals a serving, in lots and lots of different flavors. i got mine at walmart.
I love the wishbone spritzers! I use one of them everyday!
Trader Joe's has a good selection of low fat/fat free dressings.  The fat free balsamic viniagrette is wonderful.

As someone stated below...I find that the Wishbone Salad spritzers are the best. I know that for me 2 tablespoons of any dressing never seems like enough. I think that being able to spritz my salad 30 times and know that I am counting 30 calories really helps me. They have a variety of choices as well. I found them to be about $2.35 each, but to me it feels better than breaking out the tablespoon!
Newman's Own Light Honey Mustard dressing is hands down the best dressing I've ever eaten! I've been using it for about a year now and I never get tired of the taste. It has about 4 grams of fat per serving, but the extra little bit of fat is worth it...as long as you're careful with it. It is rather spicy so I find that a little goes a long way. It also contains no high fructose corn syrup which I find a plus. I love eating salads now and  I've lost over 30 pounds since January 2007! Fantastic dressing...yummy!
I second the MapleGrove farms suggestion. I LOVE their Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Baaaaahhh!!!  Put an orange, 1 TBSP olive oil, 1 clove garlic in the blender.  Pour that on your salad.

peel that orange first
kraft LIGHT asian toasted sesame dressing it is SO good! they have the regular version which is just called Asian toasted sesame but i actually like the lite version better anyway!! its the BEST!
I like the spritzer dressings by wishbone and ken's. The balsamic vinagarette have been my favorite and great for controlling portions.

Here's my favorite

Orange Salad Dressing  it's tangy and tart and not a speck of fat.

i use yogurt for my salad dressing.....  i know i am different, but i like weird stuff. any kind of yogurt..... the banana and strawberry i like the best in my salads.

You should really make your own. Many of the packaged salad dressings, especially the low-fat ones, have so many chemicals. You're better off making it yourself, that way you know what's going into it. To me at least, olive oil is healthier than Sodium Benzoate or Propylene Glycol, whatever they are. Just oil, vinegar, lemon juice and garlic powder makes a terrific salad dressing.
