Ok so my boyfriend (of 2 and a half years) is going to pop the question on christmas (you know.. the BIG one)... i think.. lol  (Long story short i'm pretty sure) We are talking about getting married in June of next year. I went to duluth wendsday with some gals and we had a HUGE girls night it was awesome we all took off thirsday and then went wedding dress shopping. I found THE dress. (http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_deta il.jsp?stid=2842&prodgroup=10) (click on alternate view) BUT it only comes in a 16! up to anyhow. I'm reallllly bummed cause i am a forever 18. I have lost 20 lbs and i'm trying to go strong.. but i'm tending to slip into eating disorder days from a few years ago (Stopped throwing up... started getting fat) so i over eat one day and then eat nothing the next to make up for it... ugh... and i KNOW this isn't good for me please don't lecture I just need something that I can eat that is QUICK and EASY and Calorie free lol... and ideas? cause i don't see any low-cal eaymac when i go to the store... I'm hoping to be a 16 by april... not sure if its even possible but i hope so its THE dress

Well that's a beautiful dress alright! Great motivation!

No more telling yourself you are a "forever 18" ok? Be ever-mindful of your newfound goal and make smart eating choices, take only reasonable portions, be active, drink water, nuture your heart, soul & body and you can be whatever size you want. It's not always easy, but it works.
Congratulations on finding the dress! That is one of the hardest parts...SO, my new favorite b-fast/lunch/dessert all purpose snack is 1 cup of non-fat plain yogurt, a whole apple chopped into smallish pieces, a squeeze/tsp. of honey, and top it with a sprinkle of cinnamon. When it's all mixed up it is filling, not too sweet, and super healthy. Plus, it takes up a lot of space in a bowl so you feel like you are eating way too much, when it's really just right. Also, for a variation, put on Kashi Orchard Perfect granonla. Literally just a Tbsp. will do and you avoid big calories
Another quicky is 4 ice cubes, one cup of skim milk, and a banana. Put it in a blender with a splash of vanilla extract blend. The banana adds all the sweetness you'll need so no extra sugar cals.
  Good luck.
oh yummy i love new food ideas! i have to get some plain yougert... i also was lookiing for a good butter sub.... mmmm butter
What do you mean by eaymac? Mac & cheese? If so, you can make that without the butter that is called for - there's already plenty of fat in the fake powder cheese stuff. And use skim, not whole milk. No, it's not the most nutritious thing in the world, but... cutting out the butter will cut cals. You won't even know it's missing. I do this with my DD, who loves the stuff. i've slowly cut the butter down, and then out completely, and she doesn't notice. It's cute - she likes my mac& cheese better than her dad's (because he follows the directions and I don't).

Fiber is your friend! Have you considered cereal? Like FiberOne or GoLean? Full of fiber, which fills you up, goLean also has protein... and what can be easier?

The dress is gorgeous, and you and your guy look gorgeous together!
just a quick word of advise from someone who sold wedding dreses for a living....  wedding dresses are made on european sizes. which means they fit smaller than american sizes.   So basically that means if you wear a size 18 in american clothes, you need a size 20 wedding dress.  If your a size 6, you need a size 8 wedding dress.  Understand.  OK good. Next point to remember, the gown you are looking at is an "A"-Line, which means it flares out at the hips. your leggs and thigh (pant size) really wont matter here. Your boobs will play a HUGE factor in the size you need.   Ive seen gals who wear a size 6 pant with DD "girls" and have to buy a size 10-12 to compensate their chest.   Also wedding gown designers oftem tend to "copy-cat" their designs.  Meaning same gown, few differences, different label, different sizing, different prices.  I urge you to shop around at different dress shops.  Davids bridal is one of the MOST expensive retail stores for wedding gowns. TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.

NEXT and MOST important thing to remember about buying your dress.  if you end up ORDERING YOUR DRESS, it can take anywhere from 9-13 weeks to ARRIVE.  Then if you need it altered, that can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks.  You want to plan it not only to get it on time, but to ensure the fit is correct.  Dresses are made for women who are 5'9 or taller, so if you are short, count on it you will need it altered.

here is a link to the picture of my wedding dress, looks alot like yours.   Plus, if you go strapless, less alteraltions (thru the shoulders)  Also if you go with a lace up back, instead of a zip-up back, that gives room for 2-3 pounds gain or lost.  hope this info helps you.

wait a sec.... your dress comes in size 14W to 26W.  (W stands for womens size)  surely one of these sizes will fit you. (not meant to offend, just thinking of an alternative.

remember too, on your wedding day, YOUR DAY.  noone will know what the label inside your dress says, or what size it is.  Your wedding day should not be about this size of your wedding dress, but it should be all about you.  As long as you feel good about yourself, nothing else should matter. good luck with the proposal.

Congrats on finding your dress!!

I currently am still in my quest to lose weight and like you I can't have a 'diet' that requires me to put in a great deal of cooking or planning.

Having said that, I have developed my own version of Jenny Craig.  Last June I went to a dietician and she recommended that I eat between 1,300 and 1,600 calories a day to lose weight.  At the time I weighed 195 and I'm 5'4.  I currently weigh 175.

Simply I have been eating microwaved low calorie meals.  Everything I eat I buy at Walmart for considerably less than a traditional grocery store.  On a typical day, this is what I eat:

Breakfast: low-fat walmart brand nutri grain bar ( i prefer strawberry) 140 cal

Lunch: Smart Ones Meal (between 190 - 320 cal), a large apple and low-fat/light string cheese.

Snack: One of the following if I get hungry - light/no fat yogurt (100 cal), 100 cal snack pack of pudding or pretzels (crackers, chips are also an option), no-sugar added fruit cup

Dinner: Lean cuisine pizza (300 cal) and a large salad with choice of vegetables, just a few fat-free croutons for crunch and the best thing in the whole world are the salad spritzer dressings (10 sprays of italian = 10 cal and 1 gram of fat!), total salad calories is about 150.

Snack:  2 or 3 bavarian pretzels or fat free popcorn or a serving of light icecream

At most, I'm eating 1,500 calories for the whole day!  It works, I'm down 20 lbs since June, my downfall is that I don't commit much time to exercise.  My next goal is to exercise more!

If I'm still hungry I break out the baby carrots or some celery sticks for something to munch on.

Best of luck to you (and your man)! :)

Congratulations!! I'm getting married in a couple weeks - 11/10/07.  =)  Getting married is sooooooooooo fun and stressful.. I'm glad you found the perfect dress. I had a hard time picking, b/c I LOVED them all and they were all too expensive. I ended up with the cheapest most simplist one.  Take a look at my journal, I've got pics up.  Anyways, my cheap/easy snacks - 1) cereal 2) fruit - usually grapes, apples, bananas 3) yogurt 4) pbj 5) soda crackers and 1 slice of cheese, 6) can of tuna with corn and a small small serving of brown rice.  Good luck!

sugar-free, fat-free jello gives you a little sweetness and the sense that you are eating.  Also, tea.  and 100 calorie popcorn packs.  Don't forget steamed vegetables!
