I was wanting some advice on healthy oils. I try to keep oils to a minimum, of course, and I normally use olive oil, but have a problem with olive oil scorching with things I need to cook at high temperature. What are good oils for higher-temp cooking? I sometimes use peanut oil if the flavor won't be problematic, or canola oil, but I am sure I can do better.

Macadamia Nut Oil is pretty top notch and has a higher smoke point than Olive Oil... So does Coconut Oil!

Rice bran oil

Flonklar, I have heard of the Google, but was looking for a variety of opinions on taste and healthfulness, not just smoke point.

Thanks for the link, no thanks for the snark.

I was addressing your specific question.

Canola oil and sunflower oil are my favorite for things like baking, and stuff where I don't want the specific olive oil taste (which of course is awesome in pasta  and Co)
