"In the Mood"  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bR3K5uB-wMA  No matter how crappy my mood is, I cannot listen to this piece of music without dancing.

"The Happy Organ" (Both because it's such an insanely happy musical piece, but also because of the name)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FpDubag4Uw

I'm sure there are others, but those are my top two.  What are yours?

Hellooooo out there!  Anyone???

Is everyone on CC just so darned happy that they don't need pick-me-up music?

The fact that no one has responded to this thread is depressing me.  I need some good music...

I like the song from the sixties..."Downtown" by Petula Clark.  It's cheery and reminds me of when I was just a youngen listening to my mom's music.

The mashup of "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Country Grammar."  Nelly vs. Lynyrd Skynyrd.  It's amazing.

Gogol Bordello. Most of it is fast and quirky and just sounds like a party to me!
Toy Dolls
The Cramps

"Hooked on a Feeling" and "Afternoon Delight" because they're both such silly songs. :D

hehe "Afternoon Delight" as sung by the cast of Anchorman.

agreed!!!  i can hear it in my head now...

Any cheesy pop music!

Brits especially may remember Five and S Club 7

Also: Backstreet Boys, N Sync...

Yeah I'm a child of the 90s!!!

Oh and also this song "Nothing on but the radio" by the Alice Band. Seriously check it out *bops around room*

Ooh and "Send me on my way" by Rusted Root (the tune from the Matilda film!) :) Happy times!

The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson or Bring the Noise by Public Enemy feat. Anthrax generally pump me up a bit.

Beautiful People also serves as the most effective brain-bug extermination song on the planet. No matter what's stuck in your head, by the time you're done listening to BP it's all gone. It's like intracranial steel wool.

Both of them are on the mix track I made for when I get on the elliptical trainer... and neither of them are really designed to make me feel happy so much as imbue the dark mood I'm in with enough energy to let me do something constructive.

But to make me feel happy, reflexively? Theme song to Hockey Night in Canada will do it every time. Laughing

Most stuff by Michael Franti and Spearhead.

or how about Ozomatli

or perhaps The Coup or Mr. Lif

also:

Star F**king Hipsters

Fishbone

Mighty Mighty Bosstones

I've also recently been enjoying Tim Armstrong

Oh, this is mine!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8cCPH1qnYI&am p;feature=related

Every time I hear it I can't help but smile, and the video makes me giggle too Laughing

I misunderstood the title of the thread and thought it meant "music that indicates that I want you to pick me up".

Was gonna say "Crazy for you" by Madonna or "Crash into me" by Dave Matthews. ;)

I'm a pretty bouncy person so I don't have many of those. This is my current favorite theme song though. I <3 This Song. It's my song! It reminds me of my husband and I. Lol, It could serve as a pick me up for someone having a rough day. Of course. . . They would sorta have to be able to apply it to themselves/mate in some way. Otherwise... not so much. =-P I think the lyrics would make some people smile even if it didn't apply to them though!

Breaking Away

"Watch me Shine," by Joanna Pacitti.

"Soak up the sun," Sheryl Crow.

"Girls Just want to have fun," Cindy Lauper.

Okay, I'll admit... it totally doesn't fit my idiom, but this song can sometimes bump my mood up a notch or two.

And nothing like a little Bob...

She's the one by Tom Petty.  I used to have my stereo pre-set to play that one every time my alarm went off in the morning.  Such a happy sounding song.

The John Butler Trio has some great tunes, my favorite is Daniella...I could run for a few extra miles listening to that one over and over and over.
