Best places to go in Central Park?
What is your favorite place in Central Park?
I love the little lawn between the Great Lawn and the pond. I'm also a fan of running the hills on the north end - they're a good challenge without being impossible.
I went to the lasker pool this weekend. Was a blast. I had no idea there was a huge pool in central park. It was a bit cold though, but for the most part very refreshing, and not too crowded either.

Wait, there's a pool in Central Park? Where?
Yep, I had no idea either. Its up around 106th st, and near the east side. Easiest access to it is from 110th st. They close after labor day till next year though and I think it turns into an ice skating rink during winter.
I may be biased because my wife is Polish, but I like the foot of the turtle pond by the Statue of King Jagiello.
The turle pond, although green with algae, is cool to sit by and watch the turtle poke their heads up.
On weekends this summer a group of senior citizens would put on regional folk dances which was cute and funny -- reminds me of the "Praise You" video.

My favorite part is the Ramble, which is between 73rd and 79th Street. It was designed to give the illusion of untouched, completely natural woodland, and no kidding, it’s like being in the woods – and the wildlife! An out-of-New York experience.
