What has been the best thing you have invested in to help your weight loss?

I am thinking about buying a bike to ride with my daughter but I am curious what other products are out there that people like to use. I also like Special K's Protien water. It really does help me feel full longer.

I love my bike. Sometimes if I haven't rode it in a while I forget just how much I like. I rode about 6 miles on Sat and thought to my self....."why don't you do this more often?" I have gone off the deep end and bought just about everything and the one thing that never disappoints me is my bike.

well fitting good quality sneakers (i went to a specialty running store to get my feet checked out and found out i was wearing the wrong size!)

having good shoes makes me motivated to go out and use them and makes working out less painful and way more enjoyable!

Best 3 investments I ever made.

  1. Elliptical
  2. Spin Bike (like the ones in the spinning classes at the gym
  3. weight set

The dog's leash XD  Yeah, I didn't buy it as a weight loss tool for ME, but it's working out good for both me and the dog (and my husband, but we have to pretend he isn't dieting/exercising so he doesn't freak out and do something destructive... it's a "lifestyle change," not a diet XD)

my treadmill has been my weight loss savior. my workout is the first thing that i do in the morning (cuz if i give myself time, i'll talk myself out of it)....anyway, it's just so good to be able to roll outta bed and knock my workout out w/out getting all dolled up and going to the gym. (be honest ladies.....u know u put forth at least some beautification effort b4 venturing to the meathouse...i mean gym! ) lol.

i know alot of folks HATE the treadmill, but i absolutely love it. i have a really good gym quality one and it just allows you such a versatile workout.

Sessions with a personal trainer. Even just 1 session every 2 months is enough to get into a new weight training routine and mix it up.

A bike so I can ride on weekends (since I don't usually go to the gym on weekends)

healthy, high quality (and sometimes expensive!) food. It's worth it.

Food scale, cross trainer shoes, yoga mat, work out DVDs

A good set of kitchen scales!!!  Plus a stationary bike courtesy of E-Bay.
My workout DVDs!  I've spent hundreds on them, but it was totally worth it!
Gym membership.

my workout dvds, I got two sets of REALLY fun ones that fly by! And my elliptical...and good workout shoes!

shoes

Billy Blanks dvds

comfy running clothe

My diary...I keep all my logs of exercise and food and thoughts of the day...my goals...keeps me grounded to what I felt the day before....very powerful tool!!

Oh ya and my elliptical...

Yoga classes, yoga mat, and work out clothes.

I love my yoga classes.  They are a great workout and they make me feel so much calmer as well.  Which is great because I work at a hihg stress level job.

a digital scale! And also a membership at a very high end expensive gym (I always feel lucky to even be there and since is so expensive, it forces me to go)Good post!

A Wii (got me moving again) and a HRM .

food scale

Gym Membership

Polar Heart Rate Monitor

  1. My treadmill (I really have gotten my money's worth out of it)
  2. My digital scale (cheap, but priceless!)
  3. New sports bras (the girls are VERY happy about them too)

I want a HRM.  That'll be my next step for sure.

My answer EXACTLY.  I think if I'd had a scale, I'd never have let myself get to the weight I'm at now.  And paying $100 a month for a gym membership sure as hell ensures I'm there 5 days a week!
