Best time to Weigh Yourself
I am just begging my weight loss goal of 10 lbs in 6 weeks. I know that weight is probably not the best way to measure my weight loss, especially since I fluctuate so much throughout the day. I was wondering if there is a better time during the day then others to get your true weight just so I can track my progress.
I used to weigh myself only on Fridays, but today I weighed myself also. I like to relax over the weekend bc I work so hard (at losing weight) during the week. So, I'll be doing this twice a week now (just so I don't have too many surprises and I can better check if it's water weight/period weight and take it easy).
M or Tuesdays and Fridays.
Like you said weighing yourself isn't a good guage for fat loss.........use a tape measure and weight yourself less often. Otherwise just be consistant on when you do weight yourself........I can fluctuate up to 6 ot 7 lbs on some days, depending on what I'm doing.
I weigh myself every morning right after I wake up. I'll go to the restroom and take care of whatever business that needs done and then hop on the scale. Seems to be very accurate (and you usually weigh less in the morning apparently).
i generally do the same - i like to know where i'm at each day so it's hard for me to limit my weigh-ins to just once a week - i get up, go to the bathroom & jump on the scale - i think it's the most accurate because you (presumably) haven't eaten anything in a few hours or drank any water yet for the day. whatever time you choose, just be consistant so you can track the changes.
I agree. First thing in the morning. If you are weighing yourself everyday (which I do not recommend), there are going to be variations regardless of how good you have been sticking to your eating plan (retaining water, etc.). It all evens out eventually. Try to do it the same day once a week.
Used to weigh myself everyday; but got so tired up the up and down fluctuation. So, I weigh Tuesdays and Fridays. Not Mondays b/c I'm not as rigid as I am during the week (I still to my high protein diet but the salt kills my water weight). Since my workouts are always amazing on mondays; I ususally have good weigh-in's on Tuesdays and Fridays hopefully I'll be adown a bit and walk around elated for .5 loss LOL!!!
I try stay away from scales as i'll be a little disappointed when i gain weight but feel I've lost.. Scales arent all that acurate because as girls our weight fluctuates alot.. We gain 2 kgs! I had a mid wife tell me this.. Also it depends on how often your body "clears" it's self. You'll find you'll weigh less after you've been to the loo even it's only 100g lighter.I'd say go by how your clothes feel and a tape measure.
If you are going to weigh yourself I recommend the first thing in the morning before you've eaten anything. This way your not adding the weight of food, after we eat our body weight can increase by 1 -2 kgs.. Wish you all the best!!
For me: the best time to weigh myself is right after my exercise (and after I peed) which is around 11 or so - just before my second meal. But typically the best time for everyone is right when they get up the morning after they have releaved themselves... I just don't own a scale - so when I do decide to weigh myself it's at the gym I belong to...
It doesn't really matter what time you weigh, so long as you're consistent about weighing at that time.
The only time I really wouldn't suggest is right after Thanksgiving dinner.![]()
I weight myself every Saturday morning, so I can relax during the weekend.
In the morning, every morning. Sticking to a precise diet and excercise plan leaves me confident that any "bad news" at the scale is a temporary condition and after 28 days that's proven to be true.
