morning? afternoon? evening?
eat something first? after? best foods to fuel a workout? best to recover with?
Best time is whatever time you will be most consistent with.
alright... so time doesn't really matter as long as you are actually willing to workout? i guess that makes sense... if its 4:30am or 12:00pm i surely would be too tired to give it my best

fuel with carbs and repair with protein.
this is the ultra-basic idea though. it is a good idea to have a balanced food item(s) before and after keeping in mind the time frame that protein is used in the body and what sort of carbs you are using ~ it can be kinda tricky.

Working out in the morning before eating is supposed to jumpstart your fat burning. Since you're low on carbs, you burn more fat. It's what I do, seems pretty effective.
I would say calvinator is correct -- provided you workout within the fat-burning zone. But if you are doing cardio for any length of time, your body can't convert the fat to fuel fast enough. If you don't have carbs to fuel it, it'll have to take it from your muscle -- not good. Eat at least a carb snack before working out. I usually have a serving of raw fruit or vegetables.
yea I have heard calvinators theory before, but I had also heard that working out without "fuel" is a bad idea since your body will start to burn muscle... that and once your done working out you will be more inclined to overeat since you burned off excess energy
i feel as though if i didnt eat before a workout I could not workout as long or hard, and probably be thinking about food the entire time...

i always feel my workouts are most efficient about up to 2 hours after ive eaten a snack (yogurt and fruit for example) and so i tend to exersize late afternoon, after my mid-afternoon snack, and right before dinner so i can recover with protein
