I just have a simple question guys;

Is it better to exercise BEFORE breakfast or AFTER?

I've heard conflicting stories.

So i just want a little bit of confirmation!

xx ♥

Haha Sorry guys, i said earlier i'd exercised later in the day and then couldn't sleep.

Turns out i also had a massive glass of Coke Zero.

CAFFIENE.

Yup.

Whoops.

Sorry!

I can be really tired when I get home from work, but if I exercise I get renewed energy and it perks me right up for the rest of the night.  It is true though if you do it too late you may have trouble staying asleep!  I, too, at times, will wake up around 3:00am feeling like I am ready for the day to begin!

I'm hypoglycemic and I've noticed if I exercise in the morning my workout is weak.  I can't do as much, and I'm completely worn out by whatever I do at that time.  It ruins my whole day.

I workout in the afternoon, and I have no trouble sleeping.  I can work out on Saturday afternoon, take a shower and as soon as I relax on the couch I usually fall asleep.  Workoung out relaxes me, so I have no problem doing it in the afternoon or evening.

It really depends on how your body reacts.  It seems to be very individual.

It's not good to workout on an empty or a full stomach!! I feel the best if I work out after having a snack like some fruit.

After going all night with no food, your body will start to go into starvation mode if you don't eat in the morning which means that it breaks down muscle for energy rather than using fat. When it breaks down the muscle your metabolism slows down.

However, if you exercise on a full stomach a great deal of you blood is shunted into your muscles for the exercise leaving a lot less for your digestive system. Normally after you eat, a lot of blood goes to absorbing the nutrients in your digestive tract and if you exercise at this time then you will absorb a lot less. Hence the old saying that you shouldn't go swimming right after eating.

Hope this was helpful.

I juicemy own juice (apple and carrot) in the morning just 8 oz and half half a penut butter and jelly sandwhich. The sugar in the apples and carrots is a great energy boost in the morning and I like PB&J so it works

I work out late in the evening and yes I am pumped up and have a hard time sleeping. For me swimming in the evening works best, I am exhausted and sleep like a log when done.
