I would contact Lorraine gatorlorraine one of the Moderators of our group.  She has been without chocolate for months,  her testimony in dealing with that "sweet" is wonderful!

Tanja, I have been chocolate free for about 8 months now after coming to the realization that it was my main "trigger" food - and the one thing I craved the most.  It's so funny - someone had some candies out on their desk since last week and I bypass the bowl with all the chocolate goodies to get the "smarty" sweet tarts.

So, in the beginning my verse was Romans 12:1 ...to offer myself as a living sacrifice to him . . .considering what he has done for me . . .

The cravings were strong to begin with - I dreamed I ate things, I thought about it all day long and all the sources came to mind of where I get could some, it would turn my head in the grocery store, but I would tell myself "Lorraine, you know what that taste like, and for today I choose not to have it"   (The hardest one was the free hot chocolate at the coffee counter at work)

A few weeks ago when working with the youth on wednesday night, they were playing a game that involved chocolate pudding.  I tried to not be involved with the game but a young man needed a partner so I prayed, Lord, you know my resolve and Lord, will you protect me and not allow this to knock me off course - and would you belive I didn't have to eat the pudding - we were feeding each other blind folded and seconds after the game began they removed my blind fold and I was able to dodge the spoon and then he dropped - so I ended up just feeding him the rest of the game.

One other time earlier on, my mother in law made her favorite chocolate cake and after dinner I totally forgot in the moment and cut myself a piece of cake and my daughter said "you're not eating that are you?"  and then I suddenly remembered, said no, and gave her my bowl.  God is so Good!

So, I don't know if chocolate has caused you as many problems as it has me. But I felt like an addict for sure, and since the chocolate has been removed from my life, I don't seem to crave other sweets and eat them when I want (which is seldom), but I don't seek them out like I did the chocolate.

Hope that helps. ~ Lorraine
