Big British bird here to get her bounce back!
Hi everyone.
I'm here because I will loose my job if i can't do what is needed of me. I need to be able to travel and on the American flights i find I can't even fit in the seats properly any more!
I need to attend trade shows - but my feet and back are screaming by the end of each day!
And I need not to be wheeled out of a Las Vegas hotel by the paramedics, in front of all my colleagues and customers, because my blood pressure is so high they wouldn't even let me walk!
and most of all... i need to have some fun, ya know what I mean? The let your hair down, dance on the table (without crashing it) and sing at the top of your voice type of fun!
But... it's hard, a life time of food abuse to kick and the inability to move very much are hard mountains to climb.
All motivations, comments, jokes, and empathy welcome. i hope to make lots of inspiring friends on here and perhaps inspire a few people myself!

You in the right place!!! We all have similar goals and problems. We are here to help and walk along with you. It is a little difficult getting used to navigating around in this forum, but please do.
I assume this is not your first diet. If there is anything we can do to help, just give a shout out.

Karen - congratulations on taking that first (and hardest) step in admitting the problem and committing to do something about it!
You are definately in the right place - the other people here are soooo supportive! Remember, one day at a time! Also - you are NOT dieting, you ARE making a life style change! The power of positive thinking will take you through those difficult days ahead as you make changes in your life and lifestyle.
I hear you on the whole wanting to let your hair down and have fun thing. Remember that you can do some of that now - well maybe not the dancing on the tables part - but if you can find a way to have fun and get yourself moving at the same time then you kill 2 birds with one stone. Dance - just do it on the floor. (I'm not sure I could dance on the tables even if I was at my goal weight - I am afterall the world's biggest clutz.)
By the way which trade shows? What is you do for a living?
