Big fat positive!!!!!

Hi all, I used to be around here a lot, but we've been ttc for 8 months, and after four or five, I had to make a personal decision to occupy less of my time with thinking about TTC, so I've been on hiatus.

Well, I'm 12 days late, had a really faint positive on a home test, went to the doc, she couldn't do any better, said wait awhile...and I just got my first clear positive result.

After eight months of trying, and thinking every month that I might be preggo, I really felt this time like I was. Tired, nauseous, really tender breasts, etc. Not like other months that I tricked myself out of hope. And, the kicker, I've never been more than two or three days late in my life.

My dr was really good, she gave me lab orders for another test so that I can get it on her records without another appt, had the whole "if you were pregnant for sure today, this is what I would tell you" talk, wrote me prescriptions for morning sickness, etc, "in case", and said that I should come back in four weeks if it's confirmed, or else in six months if she doesn't see me because I'm pregnant before that.

Anyway, rambling, but excited! I'm just about six weeks, and the doc gave me a due date in early May. I wanted to share here, because I've lurked on so many other people's happy stories, so thanks, Vanessa, rainbow, cecily, others that I've envied and followed!

C*O*N*G*R*A*T*S!

That's awesome, finnsal.  I am so happy for you!  Smile

I bet you and your hubby are so excited!  You have so much to look forward to in the next few months (and years) to come!  I can't wait to hear your pregnancy stories.

YAY!!! Congratulations.... welcome to pregnancy loop! There is so much support here for pregnancy, I feel more-so than for weight loss, lol!

Thanks girls!

We are excited. I have two step sons, so it's not the first time around for DH, but that doesn't bother me (yet...wait for the hormones to peak...). I know every time is magical. And I look on the bright side - I've gotten to "test drive" him, and I know he's a great dad. Needless to say, we're hoping for a girl, but are happy for a healthy baby.

It's early, lot's of stuff to go, but yay!!!Laughing

oh finnsal; congrats!!!!  I'm so excited for you; and I hope you have an amazing pregnancy.  Enjoy every moment of it-  I loved being pregnant; and I love seeing my little one smile and coo at me every morning.  It truly is an experience one can really see once its happening to them.  Keep up posted on your journey;  we are all here for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Vanessa. I saw your Julia pics right after I posted. She's really beautiful! All that hair! What a looker.

Thanks, juliemae!

CONGRATULATIONS!!  What wonderful news!  I know we have chatted back and forth since i have been TTC for awhile now as well.

I couldn't be happier for you and your family..keep us updated!!!

Hurray!!!

That is wonderful news, congratulations!

Congratulation!! This is great news :D

Ahhh! Congrats! People say the thing you want the most, you don't get. Then when you least expect it, you get just what you need.

I like the Stones version better..."You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes...you get what you need." Wink Welcome to the wonderful world of preggos!

that's wonderful!  and, also, really encouraging - my husband and i have been trying since the new year, so i guess it's going on nine months.  i'm starting to worry that something is wrong.  so it's nice to hear about someone else who didn't get pregnant within four or five months.  i wish you the best of luck!
