Hi, welcome to CC!  The same thing happened to me.  I started off at 147, went all the way up to 181, then got stuck at 162.  The weight seemed to drop off so fast right after birth, but then I just got stuck at 161-162.  I must've lost the same one pound for 2 or 3 months.  I was so frustrated with being stuck, so I got online and was looking for diets that I could try.  I ended up finding this website.  Using the tools here, I was able to finally get down to my goal of 135.  Now I'm pregnant again.  LOL!  I just wanted to let you know that you can lose weight with the help of this site, diet and exercise.

I don't know if you've already tried out the tools on this site, but you can set your goal weight or date, and the site will tell you how many calories to consume to get to your goal.  The site will also calculate how many calories you burn daily, and this will help you figure out how many calories to eat as well.  If you have any questions about using the tools, just ask!

Have you asked your doctor to check your thyroid? You should...they can go out of wack after giving birth.

I have a 10  month old son.  I didn't gain after giving birth (though somehow I did leave the hospital 1 lb heavier than when I went in).  I gained over 40lbs with the pregnancy and lost the first 20 in 4 months.  I stalled at that point.  I was working out constantly and trying to eat healthy, but couldn't get the scale to budge.  I am almost at my pre-preg weight, but it has taken alot!!!! I work out 5-6 times a week and have been using CC for 6 weeks (a huge help!).  Don't get discouraged.  It takes a long time for some people to get their body back (or a body that at least resembles the original model).  Try working out, or walking for half an hour or an hour, 3 times a week to start and use CC to log your food (be honest!).  Also, get your thyroid checked out!  I have been on 3 different meds for it since having my son.  Turns out my pre-existing condition had gotten worse and my dose needed to be increased by quite a bit.  It has made a difference, but what a fight to get here!

Good Luck!

I didn't gain weight after having my DS...I lost all of my pregnancy weight within the first month. Although I did start to gain weight when my DS was about 18 months old.

Get on CC, and stick to it. IF you are nursing make sure you account for the 300-500 calories your body will need per day to make milk.

hello!!

My problem is just a little different. I was 140 when I got pregnant and got up to 162. I dropped right back down to 145 and BLEW back up to 160 before I could get my kid onto baby food. I think my BIG mistake was thinking since I was breastfeeding I could eat anything I wanted. I didnt eat too bad it was those ice coffees from Starbucks that did me in. All I can suggest is take a look at what you're eating. If its not different than before you have to remember that your a new mom and my not be as active as you once were. I didn't start to lose the weight until my daughter was two and I graduated college. I guess being a new mom and dealing with stress will help put on unwanted weight as well.  But trust me,with a good diet and proper exercise it will come back off in no time! I just started to commit to exercise and watching what I eat and I've lost 2 pounds in a week.
