How big is your lunch???
Hi everyone
I just added up my lunch (by ingredient) and it came out to 640 cals. Now... I'm a VERY picky eater so this is just grilled chicken, some canned corn, a few slices of cucumber, tiny bit of shredded cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.
It just sounds like too many callories
How big are your lunches???
My ACTUAL lunch, under 200 calories. BUT, I have a mid morning snack (150) and two afternoon snacks (100 each). So, as far as food I eat in between breakfast and dinner, that's 550.
my lunch will be 300 to 400 cals:
2 slices of whole wheat bread (200)
4 slices of turkey (100)
mustard, lots of lettuce + tomato, maybe some other shredded greens (not counted..maybe 5)
diet soda (1)
and maybe if I am still hungry:
Campbell's tomato soup microwavable (90 cals)
I eat afternoon snacks but not a mid-morning snack. my target is 1300/day
My lunch runs around 300 to 400 calories, but then my daily intake is around 1300.
I dont calorie count anymore if someone wants to add it go ahead I had a slice 2 slices of bread (with poppy seeds on top) some mayo (the good stuff, 1 tablespoon) and some turkey (about 30 g) oh the bread came to about 50g it was tiny
My lunch is usually in the 400-500 calorie range. My breakfast is only 160 calories, so by the time I get a break for lunch, I'm really hungry!
On my lunch break I usually have 250 - 300 calories. However, I eat small meals very often during the day so by the time I get home I've eaten about 1000 cals. I have a hard time eating at night so I try to get my calories in during the day. Then in the evening I'll have a banana and Ritz Crackers.
I eat 6 meals a day... the meal I eat at "lunch time" is usually about 300 cals:
some examples:
fage o% (90 cals) + frozen cherries (100 cals) + almonds (100 cals)
1 can tuna (185) + low carb wrap (70) + pickels and spinach (50 cals)
My lunch it's about 150-200 cals but I eat 3 snakcs betwen bfast, lunch and dinner.
Hearts romanie lettuce - 20 cals
Tuna in water- 50 cals
Veggies-80 cals
toasted bread ligth- 45 cals
My lunch is usually about 400-500 cals. Usually roasted Chicken (6-8 oz) and steamed broccoli and perhaps a stick of cheese.
my lunch is normally around 400 calories. It's currently a whole wheat flax and oat bran mini pita with either hummus and turkey, turkey and low fat cheese, hummus and low fat cheese or just hummus. On the side is usually greens, red pepper, baby carrots, cucumbers and grape tomatoes. If I have any other good veggies I throw them in as well. It's usually dressed in a tablespoon of olive oil mixed with vinegar and herbs. To end it all, I have a piece of fruit. Today I had turkey and hummus, the salad and a nectarine. It added up to exactly 400 calories, but I don't sweat it if it differs.
Snacks tend to make me eat more, and if I have anything in the five hours till dinner (other than water) it'll be some type of low cal drink like light lemonade with a splash of 100% fruit juice and a skewer of fruit mixed in. It really satisfies me and keeps me occupied until my evening meal! I target 1500- 1800 calories a day and try for a 500 cal breakfast, a 400 cal lunch, a 400 cal dinner and a 200 cal post run snack.
Lunch around 300 - 400 calorie, normally:
1. 4 slices of whole bread
2. 6 slices of thin ham
3. iceberg lettuce
If it's less than 400 calorie, then i'll have an additional apple to sum up to 400+.
For breakfast, I would generally consume about 200+ calorie (from a bowl of weetabix) before walking to my office, then another additional 100+ calorie (from bread or cup of tea) to make up 400 calorie.
Wow, thanks soo much for the info
I can't eat a big breakfast so at around 7am, at home I have a banana, then about 3-3.5 hrs later, I have a yougurt (60 cals) and a granola bar (100 cals); and only about 2 hrs later I have my lunch. Then I have an apple and go to the gym for 1.5 hrs. My dinner's at 8pm which is a little too late but if I dont go to the gym right after work, I'll never make it there. For dinner I usually have a tomatoe with some sort of protein and some fruits. Bedtime isnt for another 3-4 hrs so that should be enough time to process the food.
I really hope this will work b/c I'd REALLY like to loose a few lbs by sept!!!!!
My lunch is usually one or two morningstar chik patties (150 cals. each) there really good, somewhat fillling and are very nutritious/lowfat.
I usually aim to be at ~700 calories when I leave work. My breakfast is anywhere between 150-250 calories so my lunch is between 450-550 cals. It's usually split over the entire afternoon though. My daily calorie allowance is around 1300.
It's weird that I used to eat a smaller lunch, get hungry about 2 pm and be nonstop hungry until dinner even with eating 2 snacks in the afternoon. But now I eat a bigger lunch and feel good all afternoon while eating less calories overall.
My lunch today is a chicken breast and black beans cooked in a spicy sauce with a jicama and grapefruit salad on the side, and a small thing of fruit flavored yogurt. It's 620 calories.
Lunch is by far my biggest meal, at about 600calories. My daily avg is about 1400-1500.
Today it was a fillet of haddock with a corn relish, carrots, and green beans.
lunch is usually around 300-400 cals. Usually a Lean Cuisine, a small mix-lettuce salad with light dressing and fruit if I can fit it in (calorie-wise).
My lunch today was 210 calories. Yesterday 306.
Today I had half a tuna sandwich (I cut one slice of whole wheat bread in half instead using two slices), some sliced veggies (carrots and mushrooms) and a peach.
I also eat snacks as I try to eat smaller portions every few hours. This morning was about 1/2 a cup of homemade trail mix (bought nuts and such in bulk so as to control salt, sugar, etc) which the site tells me (as I have to guess/substitute some ingredients) is about 330 calories.
I wasn't hungry for lunch until 1 p.m. so I ate lunch then and so far this afternoon (3 p.m.) I am not hungry so if I don't need a snack I won't eat one.
Some days are worse than others and there are times I plug my intake in and just can't figure out how I ate that much as it didn't seem like much at the time!
my lunch is probably about 400 - 600 cals. i usually eat something 300 or less cal for breakfast and if i have a snack before lunch its under 200 cal. for some reason by the time lunch comes i feel ravenous thus the high cal lunch but i counter it because most of my cardio classes are in the evenings after work
