Biggest Gainer

Hi all,
It's been awhile since I have come to the forum.
Saddly to say I have gained 12.5 pounds since last here.
I now need to loose about 45 pounds on this 4'10 frame.
According to the weight profile chart I am obese - and I feel obese!
I have absolutely no will power what so ever!!
I wish there was an easy solution for weight loss.
It seems as though the more depressed I get at being so overweight the more I eat!!
As you can see I am short and 45 pounds over on me looks like 90 pounds overweight. So the depression continunes to get worse and my eating continues --
Please - any suggestions will help!!!
Thanks
Sharon

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!! PLEASE READ MY PROFILE!! I HOPE I CAN HELP.. PLEASE just ASK!
Check out the thread I started..."South Beach?" I have lost 7 pounds in 13 days so far and am looking forward to moving on to Phase 2 and implementing a few "Good carbs". It is soooo easy to follow and I have been able to rid myself of a severe sugar addiction!

Hi again,
Well, I got on the scale today and weighed another 2 pounds higher.
Very depressing - I am now at 149 - 4'10"
I knew this morning not to weigh myself - I felt like the goodyear blimp - But got on the scales anyway, hoping the scale wouldn't read as bad as I felt - but that was not the case - I had gained another 2 pounds - I just don't know where to go from here - I have tried every diet in the books - In fact I have a bookcase filled with diet books - but there is no easy remedy for will power - of which I have none!
I have been a compulsive eater all my life - was bulimic for years and at that time was quite thin - I wore a size 3 - weighed around 92 pounds - Of course when I tried to quit this horrible problem - I gained weight like crazy -- I have went from 92 pounds to todays weight of 149 - And I really can't say that I am completely cured - I still go back to old habits - -
No matter how easy a diet sounds - It's so hard not to binge eat especially when I have been doing it for so many years - -
I hope someone who has had this problem can tell me something to help me get myself back together -
Help!
Sharon
Sharon, I think you need to stop looking at fad diets, diet books and especially above all diet pills and other weight loss medication.

The way to truly and healthily loose weight is by exercising and changing your attitude towards food completely. Start small and try to find activities that you enjoy. Buy a yoga video, go to a pilates class, go to the gym, go for a walk, ride a bike or anything else you think you might enjoy.

You can do It! Don't worry about the 2 pounds the weight flucuates over night and if you had a late dinner that might explain those extra 2 pounds.

From your posts it seems that you are obsessed with weighing yourself and focusing a lot on the numbers... don't!

Maybe ask some of your friends to join in on a new activity, it's often more fun if you do it with someone you are familiar with.

Good luck and even you will find a way that works for you.
I agree with Carie and post on her southbeach thread.  Granted different diets work for different folks but the about southbeach thats worked for me is the contol of my appetite and lack of cravings now that Im off the carb rollercoaster.

I would try different things but if appetite is an issue, I hope you consider southbeach and that thread has a lot of support and information.

Thanks for the support!!

This morning before I went to work I actually took a 2 1/2 mile walk.

Came to work ate a bowl of oats and a peach.

Now if I can just keep from snacking before lunch.

To tell you the truth my biggest problem is at home in the evening - once I mess up and eat something I shouldn't I just keep going and going till I feel miserable.

I am going to check out your journal Carie - although I tried the South Beach and just couldn't stick to it -

I have tried South Beach, Adkins, Metabolic, Suzanne Summers and the list goes on.

I think I have every diet book every published - And as you can see I have not been able to stick to any of them. I have below zero willpower!!!

Reading your suggestions this morning has helped! I just hope I keep this in mind when that nervous urge to munch and munch and munch comes along.

It's going to take a miracle for me!!

Thanks Again!!

Sharon
