(edited: NEW ANNOUNCEMENT, MAY 19 2007)
THE FINAL WEIGH-INS ARE IN!
And I thought long and hard about it. It was difficult, but I decided that anyone that was late to the last weigh-in wasn't counted. A part of this is because there are people who weighed in religiously on time, who would be displaced from winning by the overall competition, if I counted late-comers. Somehow that doesn't seem quite fair... with that said, here are the way the scores stand at the end of the final weigh-in...
WINNING TEAM: The DOWNSIZERS with 131.6lbs, followed by the Half-n-Halfs at 68.2, and the Slim Shadies trail by only 3.8lbs with 64.4! Congratulations to everyone who stuck it out for the full six weeks, I am so proud of all of us! A special shout out to the Slim Shadies who made an amazing come-back! With a continually small amount of members, they somehow managed to hold together and come so close to 2nd place!
Here's the winning badge, in three flavors!
"I won the 200+ Biggest Loser Challenge!"
"My team won the 200+ Biggest Loser Challenge!"
"I survived the 200+ Biggest Loser Challenge!"
(right-click and select "save as". If you need somewhere to save images, try photobucket, it's free!)
Here are the personal tallies on the spreadsheet. If your final weight isn't current, this is because you did not weigh-in on time. That, or I screwed up. If you DID weigh in on time and I didn't make the changes, then please let me know. Sorry! :(
The biggest loser, at 22lbs - Loven_hearts_is_good! Great job, you are truly an inspiration to all of us, and you were a great team leader!
Runners up are motivateme and jayzeigler, tied at 19lbs. Wowie! Simply amazing work, guys. I am so proud of you!
From 2lbs to 15, we should all pat ourselves on the back for a job well done. This was a tough six weeks. But we walked it out, wrote it down, drank water, ate cleanly, and did our aerobics - that's some tough stuff right there. If you managed to do even a little bit of each, congratulations for making positive changes to your life.
Thank you to our team leaders! Erica200, wants2lose, and loven_hearts_is_good!
What's next? Our very own member, nycolea, has started her own challenge called "The New You" challenge. Don't forget to check it out. It starts May 21st!

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!
Hey guys, I made this thread for general chatter regarding the challenge! You can put your suggestions for challenges here (or send me a private message, if that's preferable), or just chat with the other teams.
TEAM LEADERS: The team leader's main job is to create and maintain a thread for their team, to motivate their team members, to keep up with and check in on team members who might not have posted a weigh-in. After that, it's up to the team leader what he or she wants to do to keep the troops rallied!
PODCASTS: So I got this idea to do a podcast for the duration of the challenge, one each week, let me know what you think of the first one! I'd love to interview someone each week, or maybe even have some kind of weekly co-hosts, so if you're interested in that kind of thing, let me know!

I'm wondering how much weigh the understudies can lose?? Does anyone have a problem with a thread being started for them??
Paganmist, thanks for your enthusiasm. It's contagious and I for one want to catch it!

haha, someone suggested just making The Understudies their own team, how many people would be up for that? Wouldn't it be funny if the alternates managed to beat out the other two teams?

"I don't have access to the internet on Sunday. I can weigh on Sunday and report in Monday or I can weigh in on Friday. Which would be the best?"
Okay, I've been looking at other challenges, and they seem to have a rule where you have to weigh in in a couple of days. So our challenge starts on a Sunday. The challenge week is Sunday through Saturday. Let's say that weigh-in has to be by Monday. That's two days. Is everyone okay with that, is that enough time?
If everyone weighs in by Monday, I can have the results up by Wednesday.

Wow, Erica! You GO girl!
C'mon, Downsizers! Isn't there SOMEONE who wants to step up and be teamleader? ANYONE? C'MON TEAM DOWNSIZERS!
In other news, after floundering for FIVE DAYS between 275 and 274.5 - FIVE DAYS of losing and gaining the same half pound - I have somehow miraculously dropped to 272. What is up with that? It is my TOM, so I wonder if that makes a difference. Also, I don't pray a lot, but I prayed for a miracle, because it is so disheartening to step on the scale and see the same numbers day after day...

OKAY GUYS, I am thinking of making THREE TEAMS - there are enough alternates to make their own team and then some, so what the heck. If you're currently an alternate and you want to be a team lead for a brand new team, LET ME KNOW.

Congrats, loven! You've got the job!
I am an alternate and would like to be on the 3rd team.
Never mind, I see that I am on the SLim Shadies...thanks
Pagan...I am listed as as alternate and wouldn't mind being team leader if no one else has volunteered. I would need to know what to do.
questions would be...
how did you come up with the current loss numbers? How do you make a link in this box for a thread for the team members? etc???

hey ginny! All the teams have team leaders, I put it up at the top of the thread, but I should probably bold it. I don't know if the Slim Shadies team leader has actually made a thread yet...
If you would like to get interviewed on or cohost the next podcast, please contact me. All you need is a mic (and speakers of course), and the ability to download Skype (a free voip program.)

This is the post I was referring to, if you should make an additional team of the alternates.
Thanks...

OKAY! Looks like we've got some DROP-OUTS! If you are no longer interested in the competition, please let me know so your spot can be taken by an alternate!
Weekly totals are being tallied, but the overall loss seems to be close to sixty pounds, which is GREAT. We're doing it! Great job everyone!!
