April 1 through May 12 - 6 weeks!

RULES
  • THREE TEAMS:  There are so many people interested, a third team was createdFor whatever reasons, people often drop out or can not continue, so we need alternates!  Keep track of your weight loss right along with everyone else, because they will count if/when you're on a team!
  • ALL POUNDS COUNT: If you join in and have already lost pounds, you can choose to count the pounds you lost before the game (or, if you are an alternate, before you were on a team.)  To be fair, they will be divided evenly between the two teams.  All pounds lost from then on will be applied to your current team. 
  • WEEKLY WEIGH-INS: Every week, each player will jot down their Starting Weight (SW), Current Weight (CW), and Goal Weight (GW) to determine lbs lost per team.  If a player doesn't weigh in one week, they have until the next week's weigh-in to do so, or it will be assumed that they've dropped out of the game, and their spot given to an alternate.  Make sure you weigh in!

Starting Weight (SW): For week one, this equals your current weight.
Current Weight (CW): For week one, this equals your starting weight.
Goal Weight (GW): Your goal weight.

**Even though it's called the 200+ Challenge, ANYONE CAN JOIN, but I'm hoping that people who are over 200lbs, or who have over 100lbs to lose, will join this challenge and get motivated to get healthy and shed pounds.

I'm 120 and have to lose 20. I know it sound easy but it's harder to lose weight when you are already classified as "healthy" as far as BMI goes. So, I'll probably have a tougher time than you guys.

Well, that's three people so far.  I'll put it out there, and input is welcome and requested!

How many teams?  (2 or 3?)
Ideas for team names?
How many people on each team?

Because people tend to drop out of these things, I'm thinking that the tally should be of how many overall points the team lost (as opposed to the sum of everyone currently on the team.)

What do you guys think?
i'll think about it....well i'm not 200 pounds but i think this may really help me...i'm 115 and i'm trying to lose 10 pounds to be 105

and same with amani_009..i'll have a hard time here too
Let me emphasize again, EVERYONE IS WELCOME.  I only targetted the 200+s because we seem to be "underrepresented" hahaha.

Anyhow, if we do team names, what about these:

The Rubenesques
The Downsizers (I know, these suck, any ideas are welcome)
The Half-n-Halfs

If we could get at least 8 people per team, that'd be great!  I guess there should also be a list of alternates, in case someone drops out (or reaches their goal!)  A name for the alternates "team" might be, "The Understudies."

Haha, I suck with names.  Seriously, all input's welcome.  Let's get this thing going!

I'm totally interested.  I need to lose 145lbs, and NEED the motivation.  I am a college student and a painter, so I spend most of my day on my butt...it is really hard to find time for exercise when I spend so much time studying.....

Oh yeah...that's what I'm supposed to be doing right now...

But definately count me in!

I have 110 pounds to loose.  I would love to join.  I have to be in a wedding in September and the dresses are strapless!!!  I have to loose as much as possible by then and then keep going! 

My current weight is 246

My goal weight is 136

I would love the motivation of the team spirit! My insurance doesn't cover Gastric Bypass, so this is my last, "give it all I can", "make it stick", (I lost 86 lbs. in 05 and gained them back in 06!), "time is now" effort.
WOW 86 pounds.  How did you loose it?  I lost 50 pounds and gained it back==i lost it by doing atkins.
I did it following the Weight Watchers Plan, but not going to meetings, just doing it with my sister. Then in Feb. of 06, all my siblings and I flew to be with Dad during heart surgery, and it was a solid week of sitting around the hospital, or eating, eating, eating. When I got home, I couldn't (didn't) "stop the insanity." Just kept eating my way to bad knees, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. (Already had the diabetes.) I'd kick myself, but can't get my leg that high!!!!

Hey timeisnow---i know how you feel.  I lost that 50 pounds and then turned around and we moved and i started eating carbs again and bam there it was right back on the scale---or on me should i say! 

When do we weigh in and stuff??
