Biggest Loser

The biggest loser has been one of my favorite reality shows since there really aren't villains.  Last night episode I was so disappointed in how everyone has ganged up on Tara.  Tara strikes me as goal oriented, she's been kicking butt without being mean or spiteful.  I was so happy when she made it across that finished line first with the extra weight.

I agree:  Jillian is the trainer to beat.  She really pushes them and is less of their friend.  I think Tara will win.  Saw on tv tonight that it looks like the dad may have to leave due to heart trouble?

So... what did everyone think about last night's episode?

I don't understand why Ron got into such a tizzy about the Tongan brothers. He wanted to vote them off two weeks ago which went against their "alliance." Then the week after, the Tongans both voted for Ron. So how come he is so angry at them, and saying they lied and have no integrity, and all that? Isn't he being a huge hypocrite? Or did I miss something while zipping through the TiVo???

I was really hoping Helen would go last night. She drives me nuts, I really can't stand her.

true, but I still wanted her gone...I  can't get over her letting her daughter leave the show...she was so much heavier...I can't imagine EVER putting myself before my child...

I know laura and tara are BFFs. And Sione is Tara's biggest competitor, maybe up there with Mike. But I was thinking if Laura was really in it for the money and for the long haul she should have sent Helen home. Ah well. Helen just really bugs the crud out of me.

But what bugs me even more are the horrible ads for extra gum and stuff during the show, like when they get the trainers to endorse a product. So annoying. ARGH!! Make it stop!

I thought Laura would send Helen home too.  Especially since she suggested that Laura vote Tara off.  Seems like a really silly thing to say to her, like her bond was less important because they were just friends and not related.

And yes, the whole thing with Ron was just strange.  I think he was being sensitive because he was in the hospital and thought that everyone should have given him a break.

At this point I am hoping that Mike wins.  I really like him and think he is doing very well.  I hope when the show is over that he finds himself having more dates than he knows what to do with. 

I think Tara or Helen will be the next to go.  I'm looking forward to the makeover show next week!

I don't like the product placement crap either.

Competetion wise Sione much bigger threat annyonce factor Helen is really up there.  With every other parent/child team I don't see the parent staying it's just not done.

i think tara lied and did somewhat weigh a bit up for the weigh in...she always drops way bigger numbers than a 3.  helen drives me nuts, but strategy-wise, it would have been a huge mistake to vote her off. 

i think people really underestimate kristen as a competitor too.  she may not win the challenges, but that girl is damn determined...and pulls good numbers too. 

i can't seem to get over my little crush on mike, either.  i know he's 18, but he's so cute...

i don't understand why people are so pissed at helen for letting her daughter go home.  i mean, yes, it looks bad, but we don't really know their reasons.  and i don't see that fall-on-your-sword logic getting anyone any mileage.

come to think of it, maybe that's what ron's behaviour is about; maybe he's diverting attention from mike.

starlit, i'm starting to like kristen, to.  she's not the powerhouse that tara is, but she also doesn't waste energy on melodrama.  if only tara weren't such a friggen crybaby, she'd have a real shot at winning!

i also really liked how kristen was the only person to look at the temptation logically...if she doesn't eat the crap, she's less likely to fall below the yellow line.  period.

i don't mind tara.  i think she's somewhat annoying, but i do respect her freakish determination.

and i'm sorry, but i can't get past ron's weird stomach.  thank god they're wearing shirts for the weigh-ins now.

i love tara in the challenges; i especially love watching her beat sione.  but when she opens her mouth, i don't love her anymore .

I love Kristen.  i think she had the best attitude last night regarding the temptation.  Best way not to get voted off....duh, don't fall below the yellow line, ergo don't eat the crap.  (now if I could learn that for myself)  I also like Mike.  I think is a genuinely nice kid. 

i'm a slight cougar...because mike has stolen my heart.

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for to win. It's always fun to see Tara beat the guys on the show, though!

I liked the last part of the show when they showed Sione working out with his family in the gym, and helping his sisters. He's been there, so seems he will be a good coach and role model for them.

As far as Ron goes - why doesn't anyone on the show ever mention to him that he has a son at home who could really use his help? He said that to Aubrey (or was it Mandie?) about her father before he voted her off.

 ditto. I have a boatload of respect for both Kristen and Mike. The longer it goes on the more I am favoring Kirsten. Especially after last night. Her attitude is just great, she is smart and caring and playing the game but not being a b*tch about it. I totally respect Tara as a competitor but I'm just kind of sick of her at this point. Kristen all the way!!!

Same here. SO GLAD for the shirts now. But did you see last night that you could still see Ron's nips through his shirt? So nasty. And they are down by his waist. Gross.

500 calories for a cupcake? I wouldn't have played. I thought I was going to puke just watching them shove that stuff down...I am sad Sione left, I wish Filipe would, he's become uber annoying as of late. Helen needs to be put out NOW, I cannot stand her. I still dont understand why she asked that her daughter be voted off...something evil about that woman.

Tara is not going home. I think next week we shall see Lauren go.

And I agree, Kristen is a fantastic competitor and no one seems to realize that. Love that girl, I hope she gets close to winning or actually surprises everyone and wins.

i'd be willing to be that filipe will be a lot less annoying now htat his cousin is gone.  that whole tongan solidarity thing they had going got old.

re: the temptation - it was more than a little disturbing to see how much some of them could cram down, given the meagerest excuse.  suddenly i understand how they got so big, you know? 

I want to know how they got 520 calories into those cupcakes.  They didn't look all that big, and a slice of homemade cake about that size would have been 350 cals at most.  (At least, using my mum's sponge recipe - which involves no calorie-reducing tricks.)  Were they cream filled?  Or just really really really dense?

I have no problem with Helen letting Shanon leave before her.  I always got the impression they were on the show because Helen wanted to be, and Shanon just agreed so her mum would have a partner.  So, I was happy to see Sione leave over her (the only 'better' options for my enjoyment would have been getting rid of Felipe or Ron).
