Biggest Loser
The biggest loser has been one of my favorite reality shows since there really aren't villains. Last night episode I was so disappointed in how everyone has ganged up on Tara. Tara strikes me as goal oriented, she's been kicking butt without being mean or spiteful. I was so happy when she made it across that finished line first with the extra weight.
They are going home for 30 days now. America does vote for the third finalist. Then they go home for at least a month. Maybe even a little longer. Whoever has lost the highest percentage when they come back (overall-not just at home) wins.
I'm dying to see if Joelle comes back and if she's lost anything. To make Bob yell like that well jeez, I just want to see if she's done anything. It'll be interesting to see the orange team too, I know Dan was working hard but his teamate (forgive me I forgot his name) didn't really seem to be doing much when he came back with Nicole for all of 10 seconds. I was pulling for Mike, I still like Mike but he's just a kid. Tara deserves it, she's turned into an honest to God athlete.
Oh my god! Last night's episode was SO inspirational. I was really loving it and said to myself, "Now, what this episode is displaying is what "The Biggest Loser," is really about."
I can't believe they had to run a marathon. I don't even know if I could do that! Ha Ha. I was very impressed with Ron for finishing. I was really proud of him. He's not a fav. player of mine, but he still put me in awe. That took commitment. It was also nice to see some of the past players.
I definitely can't wait for the finale next week! I'm sure everyone did a great job on their journies. :)
The acting last night was aweful.
Ok, so I have to ask...
Has anyone actually taken the time to vote?
Who do you think will be the third finalist?
BTW, did anyone notice Heba last night? She still doesn't look that great. Looks like she has slipped a little in the diet and exercise routine.

LMAO! Oh come on, it was inspirational though! Ha Ha.
No, I didn't vote, but I never usually do. Mike should rightly be the 3rd finalist though.
Heba looked ok to me, about the same she did during the finale last year.
It will be interesting to see who America votes to keep. I think it should be Mike, however, if I was Tara or Helen, I think I'd want America to vote Ron in, thus giving me a better shot at the $. The Tara/Helen people could do just that.
I agree that Ron did great in simply finishing the marathon. Of them all, Tara inspires me the most.
I almost cried when Helen walked into that gym and hugged her daughter, who still was very overweight. I will say it again, Helen should have gone home and let her daughter stay on the Ranch. Helen has done great, I don't dispute that, but as a mom, I could never do that to my kid.
Ron surprised me by being able to finish the marathon... they should all feel very proud of themselves.
Helen may look great, but I just don't like her...and I like everyone! There is just something about her...my husband started muting the tv when she spoke because everything she said was just so irritating...its "all about me" who cares who I hurt along the way...Even though Tara is rightfully proud of herself, she just doesn't give off that same vibe...
Ron was amazing! So proud of them all really...yes...even Helen...a marathon is a huge deal!

I CANNOT STAND Helen for this exact reason. Prior to last night I didn't really like ron either but I really respect him, especially after he pushed so hard to finish the marathon. The reason he did that was mainly to inspire his son Max. Which is AMAZING - and what he should do, it was the right thing.
Then you have Helen who is so selfish she didn't even ask them to keep her own kid there. I just can't imagine. And I am so sick of her whining and her pretending to be sincere.
I bawled like a baby when Mike, Ron and Tara all finished the marathons AND when bob was being so great with Max (the brother). But Helen stirs no emotion in me. She is fake and selfish and a brat and I just cannot stand her. I'm so irked that she's in the final 3.
For home challengers, I'd love to see Kristin win. She is the best, such a great attitude and she's done SO WELL on her weight loss and fitness. If not her, Filipe. But if not him or Kirstin, it would be cool to see Nicole take it.
This show has really sucked me in!! :))
Ron might not be my favorite but I was really proud of him last night for that marathon. Oddly enough it's the kick in the tush I needed. He's got one knee and one shoulder and he completed it.... makes me wonder why with 2 good (more or less) knees I'm slacking and not back to decent mileage yet in running...truth is I haven't been in almost a month. ugh.
Tara did awesome. I just hope it's not Helen that wins. I can't stand her!

That's exactly how I feel. I can't verbalize (or write) why it is that I dislike her so incredibly much. But I cannot stand Helen. And like you said, Tara is a proud competitor but she is still very likable to me. Helen? *slap!*
I wonder if she was surprised when she got home (assuming she was everyone's favorite I am sure) to find out she is hated?

Her own kid was all grown up and didn't particularly care about being there. I appreciate that you never stop wanting what's best for your kids, but Shanon just wasn't at a place in her life yet where she was ready to make big changes. Helen was. I don't hold it against her at all, and I don't think it was a selfish decision. I strongly suspect that the *only* reason Shanon went on the show was because Helen wanted to and needed a partner. Under those circumstances, it would have been unfair for Shanon to stay and Helen to leave. With Helen being in the right place mentally to benefit from the Biggest Loser experience, it makes most sense for her to absorb as much as she can then take it home to share with Shanon when Shanon is ready. That way, everyone wins.
Helen's not my #1 favourite, but I do like her. And I certainly like her a lot more than I like Ron! I will be very happy to see Tara or Helen win. I would have been happy to see Mike win but, if he does, I bet his dad takes credit for it and that would suck because Mike has progressed in spite of his dad not because of his dad.
I know Ron is not a big favorite but I really do admire his devotion to his children. He realized he made a huge mistake and is trying to correct it. Aren't we all? I hope he doesn't win, but I like him a little better than I have in the past.
Helen shpuld have gone home when she fell below the yellow line with Kristin. C'mon, just look at her! She is not anywhere near overwheight anymore, she is very fit for her age! In fact, her legs are very skinny, she does not need to be there anymore.
Tara is nothing short of inspirational. Her determination and focus is so amazing that even to learn a fraction of it would be amazing. Also, in the moments that her fear and vulnerability come through - afraid of not learning why she gained the weight in the first place and reverting back - is very moving to me, because many people have those fears. Though I don't quite have the drive she does, that part of her is very relatable.
Whoever said they think she'll gain the weight back - I don't think so. Jillian told her that the fact that she recognizes the problem of not knowing why you've gained the weight is a step in the right direction. Some people don't even think about it.
But everytime my mom and I watch the show, we either gag when Helen speaks or just fast forward. No offense to whoever finds her motivational, but to me she's watery and fake. Mike's such a sweet guy...sure, he's still got those rose colored glasses when it comes to his father, but he's still very kind.
Of everyone on the show I should relate to Helen the most. She is closest in age to me. But there is something insincere about her. She looks like a tough cookie and acts like a tough cookie but she seems to play an act of "What? Little old me?". I don't buy it a bit.
I can't stand Helen! She is so whiney, even when she's done good, she manages to whine about how she just tries so hard and works so hard, whatever, they all do. I hope Tara wins, if not her, then Mike. And while I love Kristen, I think it would be more fair if Nicole won. Kristen had the advantage of being at the ranch for so long, while Nicole has done it at home all by herself.
My problem with Helen is this: She drills it into everyone's head that she "can't believe she did it". It being anything she does. She's starved for attention and she only talks about what she's accomplished. I understand accomplishment is what the show is about but, Helen, we know. We watched you. Stop already!
I hope Tara takes it. You know she will become a personal trainer, don't you?
