After Dane is eliminated from the Biggest Loser, they show a clip of him running a marathon with his wife and crossing the finish line. Then they come out with this article stating that he never even finished the marathon.

I knew he couldn't have finished in 3 hours 53 seconds.

A faulty lightbulb? Give me a break.

Some how it doesn't surprise me. But, it's a shame because it makes everything so less inspirational. Undecided He did run quite a long ways though by the sounds of it which is probably more then he would have done had he not been on TBL.

I love TBL, but with all tv shows even if reality or maybe especially reality I don't take them too seriously. Just enjoy the entertainment value and pick up whatever I can for motivation and inspiration.

Makes you kind of wonder what else has been lied about on the show though. Hmmm.

I love watching the show to see the dramatic changes in people, but I don't think its healthy at ALL to be losing 100 pounds in 8 weeks. That's just way too extreme. And then to claim to have run a marathon is so miss leading.

They put these people on 1200-1500 calorie diets and work them out 6+ hours a day. Again, how healthy can that be?

It's all miss leading. I can't imagine what the body feels like it's going through. No wonder they vomit so much.

My guess? One of the layers of hell, probably 6th or 7th.

^ I agree. It is a very unhealthy way to go about it..but it's tv so they go to extremes. I personally would never do it this way, but I will admit the changes in the people are amazing. I have heard many of the contestants do gain weight back which would only be natural in an every day setting. Come to think of it, Ali the winner of the one season seems to be the only one I can think of that didn't gain some weight back...Probably why they use her for their promotion so much! Lmao!

But realistically, yes, this shows methods are no way to go about weight loss. I believe Jillian addressed this though a few weeks back on the show which is good to let people know that this is no way to go about it in every day life outside the TBL.

I knew he didn't run a full marathon! Marathon running isn't something you just do. You have to train for a while! I mean, he's still kinda big. I would have believed a 10k but I wasn't buying the marathon at all.

BTW, did anyone see Michelle (last season's winner) on LA Weight Loss commercials? She's the first girl saying "I lost 110 lbs"! yeah, she lost most of them on TBL, not at LA Weight Los.

*wonders who wears the crown for Miss Leading*

I like to watch the show too but purely for entertainment values as I know it isn't healthy to lose weight the way they are doing. My husband and I always laugh with the do their little promo plugs for cereal and such. That Subway one was hilarious too...

Waiiiitttt... He ran the whole marathon guys, he just didn't finish in the time/order which was originally stated.  And I'm sorry, but I think he could have done another 3 miles before 2 more hours had elapsed.

So he ran 23 miles in six hours... that's still pretty impressive. But if they'd really wanted to stay true to the spirit of the thing, they'd have left him alone to finish the whole course in his own time and if it took him eight hours, then so what!

Not true :)

He ran 23 of the miles in 5 hours and 53 minutes. You gotta read carefully :)

He went BACK and finished the 3 miles later that night. He didn't do it straight. He didn't do it with the rest of the marathon runners. I dunno, I just dis-credit the entire thing. I would have been happier if he came in after 6 hours and completed it fully.
