Biggest Loser TV Show

Does anybody watches the Biggest Loser TV show?  I would say that I have seen pretty much all of their 7 season and I enjoy watching it because I enjoy seeing people lose weight and feels great on their accomplishments.

Although Jillian is a tough trainer, I like Bob a lot - I actually started doing Yoga because Bob kept talking about all the reat benefits of yoga in the past shows, and he's right, I love doing yoga in addition to my other exercises.  It's quite the opposite of everything I do because it's more relaxing rather than beating my muscles or pounding on my feet.

I saw Jillian, Bob, and the previous winners of the show last night in Larry King Live - everything that Bob and Jillian talked about are pretty much true - about counting calories and staying on course with the exercise regimen.  Bob even said that calorie counting is so important because the general population no longer knows how a healthy portion actually looks like (in size) because every restaurants and food chains are serving bigger portions which is twice or more than the healthy size.  Jillian said, if you we want to achieve our goals in weight loss, we would have to do the work (of calorie counting) because no one else will do it for us.

Ali and Michelle (last 2 winners) were there and they are all inspiring to me.  Jim (the twin brother who won the 100,000) was there and looking great, he has not gained back any of the weight he lost at the ranch and home.

Eric was there too (previous winner) to talk about his weight gain - he said he lost over 200 lbs and gained back half of that because he had fallen into depression after the season was over.  He said he will get back into it this year.

Eric is such an example of the rest of us, where we all flactuate up and down with our weight.  Some realized it sooner than others.

I hope they are all inspiring you too...to keep going and never give up!

Keep watching!

Take care.

We love this show and TiVo it weekly.  We started a "Biggest Loser" type contest in my husbands office.  It is really exciting to step on those scales on Monday and see how well I have done counting my calories and all the hard work I have put in at the gym.  I need to stop weighing on a daily basis and only weigh on Mondays.  It is a hard habit to break!

Looking forward to being the "Biggest Loser" in another few weeks!Wink

Bamamom2,

Good for you!  I think it works really well when you're totally motivated, I think weighing-in in front of other people would put you to total freak mode so the defense mechanism is to work so hard and hope that it'll show on the scale when you stepped into it.

I watched the TV show last night and I now established my favorites, I like the green team, blue team, and yellow team.  I want to see them as the top 3.  We'll see what happens next.

Keep up the good work!

Nicole being back in the ranch was great but it was a shock to see her gain 5 lbs so fast...I feel bad for her but they probably made the right decision to send her back home because she became a big threat for them especially to Tara.

I want Mikey to win this thing!  That kid is so sweet and so caring for his father.  He would be a good role model and guide for his overweight brother at home.

I too felt bad for Nicole.   I do think she did really well at home and will  continue to do so.

I personally would like to see Tara win.  She has worked really hard.  But Mikey would be great also.  We need a young man like him to be a good role model for all our over weight teens.

I am such a marshmellow I would like to see them all win.  I don't know that your average person could go on that ranch and do what some of those people  do.  It looks and sounds like a lot of hard work.

If it's not Mikey, I would be happy to see Tara win it...she's work so hard to get where she is.  I actually like her personality, she's very competitive too.

What they're doing at the rance is hard...I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode...looks like they all behave badly over something that made Jillian and Bob so dissappointed at them.

There wouldn't be any drama if they didn't misbehave once in a while....I'm sure its hard to stay that focused for that length of time.

I always look forward to Tuesday nights.  I get the biggest kick watching all the contestents loose the weight.  I cheer them on.  My husband thinks I"m nutsLaughing

We can chat after the show tomorrow or Wed morning.

Lesa,

I am happy to see those contestants lose weight every weigh in time.  Surprisingly, my husband likes watching it with me except when there's too much drama and crying, he's not into that Cool

I am looking forward to chatting with you tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

Take care.

lesahayes,

did you watch the BL last night?  who did you want to win?  I wanted Mike before but over the past few weeks, he seemed to become so cocky when he told Ali that he's going to win this thing... now he's below the yellow line and is begging America to put him in the final 3.  I hate Ron - he reminded me of Heba.

Now, I'm rooting for Tara to win this whole thing!  I'm so excited to see all of them in the finale.

I was impressed on all four of them though in finishing a FULL MARATHON - not surprised to see Tara finishing first but I was really surprised to see Ron finally put an effort to finish it even if he has to walk it for some 13 or 14 hours.

Did I watch??? of course!!!

What a good show.  I am so happy for all of them.  What an accomplishment !  They have all lost a whole person in weight.

I too am rooting for Tara....she has kicked some *ss through the show.  Tara is one beautiful young woman.  I can see why she use to model.  What a way to finish out the show without ever going below the yellow line.  It just goes to show you what we are capable of doing, when we put our mind to it.

Helen has to be so proud of herself....to be 48 and look that good again!  It's much harder to lose weight when you are all hormonal and have your body changing.

Ron I feel for....to do as much as he did with so much pain.  I know he has been like the "God Father"  and had everyone believing everything he said and following his lead.  You can't blame a father for protecting his kid. ("I hate Ron - he reminded me of Heba."  I wasn't very fond of Heba either).

Mike has a new life ahead of him and he's a little cutie.  He will have to learn that being cocky is not going to get him far.  But, at 18 you think you have the world by the balls (even more so when you have dad backing you up).

I voted on line last night ......to keep Mike.  I will vote again tonight.  I think "America" will vote to keep Ron so Tara has a chance to win or to keep Ron from getting his way and having his son win.

I think they all did fantastic finishing a Full Marathon!  I would like to do that one day.....

Think it will be great if another female wins for the 3rd time in a row!!

I can hardly weight till next week to see who wins.......Smile

Chat later

Biggest loser plays on the big screen at my gym (or did while the season was still running) and it was great.  I'd head over around 8pm and I just wouldn't get tired watching it the same way I would watching other things.  I mean, if someone who didn't exercise or eat right just a few months ago can finish a marathon, I can finish three miles, no problem.

HI from Mexico!!!

I´m soooooo jealous, the show we get here in Mexico is SOOOOO old. I was in the states a couple of months ago... so I have some idea about the contestants you are talking about.

I love “Perder para Ganar“ (that’s the name in Spanish). It used to be on Mondays so OF COURSE after my run I would have my light dinner in front of the TV watching the show. It was a great motivation... The last season we saw finished like a month ago, so I’ll probably won’t be watching it for a while. I tried to watch it in some webpage but I found nothing... :( OH WELL... I’ll just have to wait!
